This historic church and supporting buildings has a great history of community service and dates back to before the Civil War. Went to a Sunday service, was well received by the locals and participated in the monthly Knights of Columbus breakfast which was a great deal and very good.

One certainly does not need to be Catholic to feel the hallow of St Marys in Key West. On many pleasant days the series of outer double doors are open to the sunlight bringing the clean blue skies and fresh air into this architecturally stunning shrine. An active congregation worships daily. The acoustics are excellent and organ sits above at... More

The church is beautiful, both inside and out, no matter what religion you are. Honestly, the only reason I came to see the church is because I found out from my trolley tour driver and another tour driver that part of the James Bond movie, "License to Kill" was filmed at this church. Being a crazy Bond fan, I had... More

We were spending the weekend in Key West and attended the 6 PM Vigil Mass Saturday at Saint Mary Star of the Sea. Lovely church and grounds. The pastor presided and it is only the second Mass of my life that was said so fast. The readings were fast and Father read the short version of the Gospel. The singing... More

We were not staying over the weekend, so we did not attend Mass here. The church is quite nice on the inside with the usual stained glass, etc. that you can find in most Catholic churches. The side doors open up for ventilation and adds to the décor. The grounds are very nice. The grotto has a story! It protects... More

This beautiful and historic church is a major piece of KW. The parishioners and clergy are very welcoming. Walking the grounds thru the grotto and the stations of the cross is relaxing and spiritual. Usually the church is open with side doors open on cool days but when it gets warm they have the AC on. I recommend a visit... More

We went to the 10:30 AM Sunday service. The church was full. Loved the upbeat music. Open side doors make it nice and airy.

Old world American church with lovely stained glass windows on Duval Street. Seems to be open to the public most days.
