The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, displaying, and...

The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, displaying, and interpreting artifacts, antiques, books, documents, photographs, and oral history relative to the History of Diving. We tell the international story of man's attempts to explore, understand, and venture under the sea. We also celebrate the special role that South Florida and the Florida Keys played in this story. The Florida Keys History of Diving Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution focused on the Story of Man's Quest to Explore Under the Sea. The majority of the Museum's artifacts have been provided through the generous support of its founders, Drs. Joe and Sally Bauer, who hold one of the largest collection of historic diving equipment and research documents in the world.

We were amazed with the history of diving from the deep diving suits to the modern day scuba equipment. Clean, well curated, the exhibits were easy to read and view. So cool in many ways. Good gift shop, too for those back home that missed out. Interesting for nature, science, history, pop culture, and art.

We went here during our ride back to Miami. It is very interesting and they have lots of different things to see, watch and touch. If you're in the area and you're a diver, this is a must visit.

Lots of history and explanations about diving equipment , its development and the people who did it. The collection is not complete but may be the best I've seen

This was an amazing collection of diving equipment through the years. I went with my husband and expected a quick boring visit, but found myself fascinated and not at all anxious to leave. It was a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.

We took our 6 year old Grandson here and he loved it he was entertained with the scavenger hunt. Was very nice to come out of the sun for a few hours.

We visited the museum while on a 'Wreck Trek', diving wrecks and reefs in four locations down the Florida Keys. While this obviously means that we are diving fanatics, and thus be more than most likely to enjoy the museum, we did feel that it was very well organised to appeal to non-divers too. There were many interactive exhibits and... More

What an amazing place. Lots of history. The array of helmets from all over the world was impressive. I'd love to come back and bring my grandchildren.

It wasn't quite what I expected but it was OK. A bit pricey for what it was. Had some neat artifacts and displays but we were there less than an hour to see it all.

Really a great trip down the history of diving. Super informative and well down displays. Great display of the diving masks from around the world for 200+ years. Well worth the twelve dollar entry fee.
