This is definitely not Sea World or a dolphin show. This nonprofit hospital saves turtles' lives, is willing to keep turtles that can not be re-released into the sea and provides a good educational tour of the facility. The staff is very committed to helping sea turtles recover from illness and injury and are very open to visitors' questions.

The Turtle Hospital is a must do tour in Marathon FL. The guided tour takes you through the hospital setting, what the Turtle Hospital is all about, issues with the turtles and visiting the various turtles. As this is an actual hospital, you cannot touch or interact with the turtles since they are various stages of their healing process, but... More

Information centre has a good summary of the five turtle species in Florida. Tours run every hour on the hour and last about 90 minutes. On the tour there is a good live with video assisted presentation before seeing the hospital and turtle recovery tanks. Taking the tour is a good way to support a worthy cause.

We were staying next door at Tranquility Bay and took a mid-afternoon tour after reading positive reviews of this attraction. We were not sorry! Our guide was terrific - knowledgeable, pleasant, loud enough for all to hear and passionate about turtles! The tour heightened our awareness about the plight of turtles and how they are harmed by our carelessness with... More

Really interesting visit, got to see all the turtles at the facility, and learned a lot about the specific animals they are treating (what their injuries are, treatment process) and sea turtles in general. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable if not the friendliest person.

The tour was very informative and interesting. Call ahead and make reservations though. We got the last 2 slots for the days and tons came in after us but were turned away. And, the tours for the next days were already filling up.

This is a must stop when in marathon! It will give you a great overview of sea turtles and what we can do to help. This is a hospital and you might get to see a surgery in progress! They exist totally on donations and are a rescue, rehab, release facility.

We visited this hospital for turtles and adopted two turtles! We also took part in release Marilyn to the ocean! It was wonderful! Everyone who loves turtles should visit The Turtle Hospital! People who work there are very engaged in helping turtles, they have a huge knowledge about them. You can ask about everything what is connected with turtles and... More

We visited with 6 people...it was pleasant. We enjoyed learning about the sea turtles and viewing them. It can get quite hot during the walking parts but it's worth a visit.
