Do not come here. You sink up to your knees in the mud seaweed beach. Stinks like hell. Not a nice beach. Go to Sombrero Beach. It is very nice.

Traveled to Marathon, FL in mid July and rode my bike over there. Very disappointed lots of brush growth and very little beach at all. I know that area has suffered allot of beach erosion so I guess that is the culprit. On your way there is a sign that says help us save Coco Plum Beach. There are some trails there if you like exploring but they looked pretty rough. Maybe they will get a grant and be able to retore to what so many internet pictures look like. …

Loved the quiet, secluded beach...hardly anyone there. But the seaweed, sea grass was just plain gross. Stinks bad, and the water closest to the beach was literally brown. Good for peace and quiet. Not so good for swimming, beaching.

Worst beach I have ever seen. There was limited parking and it was very full. When we finally did get a parking spot and walked up to the beach we were shocked. Very little white sand beach and no place to put out chairs and umbrellas. Beach was full of seaweed and so was the water. Impossible to get in the water unless you wanted to bath in seaweed. Everyone there was wind surfing. There was plenty of wind for that activity. I do not know how the windsurfers put up with all the seaweed. We saw one man trying to untangle a 15 ft piece of seaweed from his kite.…

This beach is just when entering Marathon key. It's rather a long stretch of sand than a beach. It seemed dirty and not maintained with absolutely no shade. Spare your time and drive to nice Sombrero's beach few miles further.
