The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

I love John's Pass

I think this place is great. Watch the boats, birds, dolphins, pop into the shops, wander along the board walk and then cross over and watch the sun set over the sea. Perfect

Taking in the pelicans and watch the charter fishing boats come in is somewhat interesting. There are a ton of shops there but in my opinion all sell the same selection of overpriced t-shirts and Chinese imported coffee cups with cute sayings. No real local flavor to the shops.

Thanks for visiting the Pass. Glad you had a good time. The scenery from the boardwalk is one of the best parts about the Pass, shopping and a nice sunset - tough to beat. See you again soon! More

We checked out lots of shops and several restaurants. You can spend a day or more here by adding a boat trip. We enjoyed watching the pelicans and dolphins off the pier while enjoying drinks and burgers.

Thanks for stopping by the Pass. Glad you had a good time shopping and checking out the restaurants. A boat trip, or wave runner excursion is a fun time - you can check out all the businesses that provide these services along the boardwalk. See you again soon! More

Loved Johns Pass. Shopped many stores, lots of cute things at good prices. Also shopped at Just Hats and bought 3 very cute hats. I had a wonderful experience at this store. The sales clerk was very nice and helpful. I have seen a few negative reviews on this shop, but I loved it. Can't wait to return next fall.

The little village of John's Pass is a great way to spend a few hours when you're in the area. The views around the restaurants are great (we saw dolphins while eating lunch at Bubba Gump), the ice cream store is tasty, and the shops are cute. Some of the boutiques that I find to be quality and worth visiting... More

I've visited John's Pass in Madeira Beach, more times than I can count. Sometimes busy, sometimes not. Lots of great shops and uniique places to browse. The resturants are all good too, with a nice view of the canal. Most days you will see dolphins while you enjoy you lunch and a cold beverage. I love the conch fritters at... More

We came over here to do some shopping and it was the typical tourist Beach shopping area. Maybe one or two stores that had any upscale or decent high quality merchandise. If you're looking for run-of-the-mill souvenirs -- magnets T-shirts etc. then this would be your place. In a couple of the shops the staff couldn't even look up from... More

Thanks for visiting John's Pass. While shops are not focused on high-end [for the most part], there are several shops that offer product that is not your typical touristy stuff. Start your shopping at the north end of the Village and work your way back toward the boardwalk to avoid being overloaded with a ton of souvenir shops. We look... More

Love this place and always have. It never gets old to me. The shops are unique and fun and there's so many places to eat and drink. The wine store is great. Free wine tastings and frozen wine. The chocolate wine is fun to try.

We really enjoyed our visit to the village and Boardwalk. The shops weren't your tacky souvenir stores rather each one had unique items that you may not find anywhere else. We enjoyed shopping the stores as we headed towards the boardwalk. Parking was easy and there were ample spots available while we were there. There are plenty of restaurants (mostly... More
