If this isn't paradise, I don't know what is!

Incredibly amazing beach. If you are a shell collector this is the place for you! Many unusual varieties including sand dollars! Water and beach is gorgeous. Very low key and relaxing. Many shallow areas if you have children. Sand is like sugar and white. This is surely why they call the area the paradise coast! Amenities include showers, rest rooms, playground and lookout tower. Plenty of room to play frisbee or soccer without interrupting others on the beach. Includes a lagoon area to hunt for creatures between the parking area and Sand Dollar beach. This is a definite must see in the Naples-Fort Myers area. We will be back for sure!

Not worth the long drive
Jul 2021 • Solo
Decided to take the 1 Hour drive from Fort Myers and check out Tiger Beach for the first time. Let’s just say this is going to be the last time. I packed very light - carried a chair on my back and pulled a small cooler on wheels. There is not much guidance after you park in the lot on which entrance to take in order to access the beach. There are various entrances labeled with numbers, but you don’t know where you’re going to end up once you walk out on those walkways. I decided to walk all the way to the top of the parking lot and take the #6 walkway which was a good idea because it was the last walkway that enters the top of long various football sized fields trek to the beach . After walking the boardwalk I thought I would be right by the beach, however I was wrong. It took me 20 mins from the time I left my car to the time I finally arrived at a spot on the beach to finally relax. As I looked around I got a bit concerned as I thought what if a storm comes through. I’m out here in the open and I have a 20 minute run back to my car. Just as I had those thoughts, I looked up and there’s big black clouds coming towards the beach. After sitting on the beach for 40 minutes, I decided I am not being put in a situation where I’m running my butt off back to my car so I packed up and I left. About 10 minutes after I got to my car it downpoured and all I thought about was the other people with all their piles of stuff and children running to their car during the 20 min heavy downpour. I ended up going over to the bridge at the beginning of Marco Island, parked my car in the sand right before the bridge and sat 30 feet from my car in the mushy sand. Never again.. not worth the hour drive.

Best Shells
Jun 2021
Tigertail Beach is a very large sandy beach. It was a little bit of a hike to get there from the parking lot, but we had a large area to ourselves and the shells were amazing!

Best shells!
Jun 2021 • Couples
We were staying at the JW Marriott when we met someone who suggested Tiger Tail Beach for the best shells around. Her suggestion was great! Go past the populated part of the beach and you will find sand dollars and fantastic unbroken shells of all kinds! If you like a LONG walk on the beach it is close to 2.5 miles one way from the Marriott. You can drive there and park in public parking then reduce the walk to closer to 1/2 to a mile to the best shells. It is worth the trip if you want some amazing shells & sand dollars!

Nice large beach
Jun 2021
Very nice large beach but it is quite a hike carrying umbrellas, chairs, cooler, blankets and toys for the children. Would be nice if they had some kind of paid golf cart transportation system. Good idea to buy some kind of wagon to store and carry your gear.

This was our first time coming to Tigertail, and knew nothing about it. We thought $8.00 to park was quite steep, but paid it anyway, because we didn't feel like driving all the way to Naples. It was our last day in Marco Island, and wanted to just chill. We parked the car in the lot, and walked across the longish bridge, and was met with more trees across a crushed shell walkway. No beach. We found out it's a hike and a half with all of our gear. By the time we finally got to the water, we were soaked with sweat. We then realized what the wagon in the rental house was for! There were no facilities on the beach - the bathrooms were waaaaayyyyy back by the parking lot! Didn't see any concession stands that were boasted on the website either. To make things even more uncomfortable, the beach is mostly crushed seashells - if you go here, bring water shoes. Walking on this beach is painful.

Expected more than we saw.

Paid $8 to find that the only beach we saw was for fishing only. Apparently we weren't guided to the beach that gets bragged about.

Huge, deep beach with beautiful sand and water
May 2021 • Family
Tigertail Beach is gorgeous - uncrowded, powdery sand and incredible shelling. I’ve never seen so many sand dollars. If you arrive by car, there is parking for $8. Enter the lot and go as far left as you can. The beach access is every 100 yards or so. Be prepared to walk as the beach is very wide. I would recommend a beach cart or backpack chair to make the trip more comfortable. Water is clean, warm and gorgeous with dentals waves.

Give it a try!
Jun 2021
Almost didn’t make a stop at this beach while on Marco Island because of some of the reviews but decided to give it a go.

Stayed on the island overnight because we had booked a shelling boat tour while family was in town and we are FL locals. The boat tour was good for the $ but the shelling was disappointing.

Decided to give Tigertail a try the next morning before we headed out. Great decision. Is it a solid walk? yes. Would I do it with a ton of beach gear? Probably not but I’m not that person. Was it great shelling for a “shell hunter”, yes.

Drive to the very last parking space/area….walk down the lovely mangrove walk way…go left…go….go….go…and enjoy….No need to walk through the lagoon like some have posted (almost made us pass, so glad we didn’t trust those reviews) Loved it!!
