It's so unusual for anything to be free and worthy, this place is both. It was hot when I went and I started to walk, but changed my mind. It's pretty long and I recommend driving. I saw my first alligator here and tons of beautiful birds. Well worth the trip!

We are lucky to live only three miles from this location. We are Irish and every time we have visitors over, we bring them for a walk up here. This place never fails to impress, from the beautiful birds and nature, to the gators (which you will always see). This area also has one of the best sunsets, you will... More

I love this place. a small area of wetland with cranes, ospreys, ibis, limpkin, hawks, coots & moorhens, bitten and so many more. Yesterday a snapped great photos os an anhinga fishing and 10-12 foot gator taking in the warmth. Walk round, take your time and enjoy!

Just down the road from my house. Great "break time" to go and see the wild life. Winter time is best for the birding aspect.

Great trails! There's so much wildlife to be seen. While there are driving trails, we enjoy parking and walking. Its a great place for the amateur or professional photographer. Tons of birds, turtles, and sometimes alligators! Last time I went to run, there was a small gator sitting on the side of the road. Beautiful place at any time or... More

I found this place by accident and I am glad I did. It is near town and simple to find. Well worth a visit or if your like us regular visits. It is a great place to drive, bike or walk through, quietly of course so as not to disturb the natural wild life that calls this place home. A... More

This wetland park is outstanding! The driving trails are well laid-out and there are plenty of chances to spend as much time as you want enjoying the wildlife. It is especially wonderful in the winter, when there are more birds. Don't miss it.

We found this place on trip advisor. It is amazing. We walked through, kind of a long walk. We saw many Egrets, cranes, and many other birds. Not really the best time to see unique birds. We saw several alligators close up. We heard all the noises of the wetlands. It was easy ground to walk on. Bring a camera... More

I've always known this wetlands as the Viera Wetlands, but no matter what you call it, I recommend it if you love birds. You are bound to see ibis, glossy ibis, caracaras, eagles, osprey, great blue herons, snowy egrets, great egrets, and more! Especially good in the spring. Also check out the retention pond outside of the wetlands near the... More
