Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This theater always attracts those who are interested in movies that are out of the ordinary, which have been winners in many different forums and were made all over the world. The theater is located in the heart of Little Havana in Miami, which comes alive and boasts its culture during their third Friday of every month.

MDCs Tower Theatre has a long history and is located on 'Calle Ocho', Little Havana, surrounded by restaurants and cigar factories. I found it searching for independent films on a visit to Miami. It was easy to purchase tickets online, but you can buy tickets at the box office. Friendly staff, comfortable seats and big screen. I had a great movie experience in this theatre.

I’ve been meaning to review Tower Theater since I saw the East Coast premiere of Tigre (2018 Miami Film Festival) this past March. It is such a splendid spot to catch a film, and I've seen several there over the past few years. Its classic Art Deco facade harks back to the roaring ‘20s when it was the first of its kind of theater in the entire South. Today, it is one of Miami’s leading cultural institutions. Located in the heart of Little Havana along famed Calle Ocho, it is in the midst of other well-known gems such as Ball & Chain and Azucar Ice Cream. A historic landmark, it has thrived under the guardianship of Miami Dade College since 2002. Tower Theater has been instrumental in bringing the delights of bustling Little Havana to both local and out-of-town cinephiles. It is the meeting point for the popular Little Havana tours conducted by local historian Dr. Paul George on Friday nights. Tower Theater plays a fine mix of independent and foreign-language films and is one of the host cinemas for the Miami Film Festival. It also presents cultural events and performances from time to time. When it premiered the Japanese film “Our Little Sister,’” a delegation from Miami’s Japanese Consulate was in attendance to introduce the film along with Fushu Daiko who entertained the crowd with Japanese Taiko drumming. Not only is Tower Theater one of the best reasons to visit Little Havana, USA Today heralded it as one of the 10 great places to see a movie in splendor in their round-up of the best old-fashioned movie palaces! Parking is readily available in the lot next door or on the surrounding streets. The concession stand is modest, not untypical of independent theaters, but it has something tasty to satisfy everyone. The intimate lobby is a lovely gathering spot with several comfortable seating areas. The staff are always friendly, organized and helpful.

Tower Theater is an Art Deco building in Little Havana. It opened in 1926 and still runs shows. It’s one of the one of the top

Been around for years along Calle Ocho. Recently went to see Pavarotti, a documentary about the legendary tenor. Aside from a difficult parking situation, the theater is charming.

As a resident of Miami I go here for the films, but it's worth recommending to visitors for two other reasons: 1) the location, which is in a vibrant part of Little Havana (on the day I was going to the movie, the area was hopping with tourists and tour buses); and 2) the Art Nouveau architecture of this well-preserved building.
A little p.s. about the location: it's next-door to the famous Domino Park where there's always a game or two going on among the natives. And if you're a jazz fan (which I'm not, but my husband is) don't miss the Balls and Chains restaurant directly across the street from the theatre (=north side of 8th street).

The first theater to show films in Spanish. Still show films now and is a marvel to have a historic building still in operation.

Learned about this theater while looking for somewhere to relax in Miami. Managed and owned by Miami Dade College, this two screen theater specializes in showing independent films which are rarely shown in big chain establishments.
Medium popcorn is available but no butter was present. Coke in a can add to the little touches that make this a memorable experience. After the movie, walk outside to the many restaurants in Little Havana. Very nice and clean theater see movies you probably wont see anywhere else. Highly recommended.
