About
We are an urban oasis in the middle of the glamour of South Beach, a place where residents and visitors can enjoy all the serenity that the Garden has to offer in the shadow of the brand new Convention Center! We invite you to discover the spectacular features of the Garden – a wetland with red mangrove and pond apple trees, an expansive water garden with cascading oolite fountain, a welcoming entrance plaza, and diverse collection of flowering trees, palms, cycads, orchids, and Florida native species. Our Botanical Boutique is bursting at the seams with floral and fauna-themed gift items that you will want to take home as a memory of your visit. Visit the Garden web site at mbgarden.org to purchase tickets for just $5, Tuesday thru Sunday.

    Feels like a secret garden
Being free (and smaller than other gardens in the area) shouldn't imply this is a lesser experience- this is one beautiful garden. I enjoyed an early morning stroll while waiting for other area attractions to open- arriving early was to my advantage as parking in the area looked as though it could become problematic later in the day. A beautiful oasis in the middle of a city!

    Worth a visit
I enjoyed my visit to this botanical garden! I'd wanted to go for quite some time, and my hotel (Kimpton Palomar South Beach), was walking distance away. It was as billed--a small, beautiful garden. There was so much variety, including things known as desert plants (Adenium Obesum, Desert Rose) and agave, growing in Miami's humidity and frequent rain. An avid gardener from the Southwest, I learned some things! There are a few plants for sale in the gift shop and around their nursery area. I wish they'd had more. It's worth a visit.

    It’s beautiful and free!
The garden was within walking distance from our hotel. There were a few entrances along the canal to get in. What a beautiful little garden! They had few water features, Japanese garden, little trails, restrooms and little boutique that sold few drinks and things. Dogs are allowed on lease, they accept donations and the best part, it’s free!! You can also follow the canal path right out to the Holocaust Memorial which is also free and very touching.

    Very Small Free Garden Experience
This is a free experience in downtown Miami Beach. It’s ok but not as nice as one might imagine. There was a lot of construction going on in the outer area of the gardens and constant beeping of the vehicles in backup mode. Several paths were blocked off due to this construction. Also they were obviously refurbishing some of the garden because they had plantings in black plastic pots spread out as if reading to plant. We went in mid September and there were a few things blooming. There were a few fountains making a pleasant water noise but you could barely hear it over the beeping. Some benches and tables and chairs were scattered about making it possible to sit in shady areas and relax. They have turtles and koi. They have clean nice restrooms and a small gift shop that has cold water, soda and coffee for sale. Also a bottle refill water fountain outside the shop. We spent about 30 minutes wandering around. It is a pretty little garden but not worth a great effort to get there. If you are in the area it is worth popping in for a stroll. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to get there.

What a fantastic little gem. They have thousands and thousands of plants. Although the garden takes up what is apparently 3 acres on one city block, the garden is very thoughtfully laid out and you can tell that there’s been a lot of money time and love invested into every square inch of this place. Anyone who complains that the garden is small doesn’t appreciate how expensive gardening is, or how much work it requires to create such a beautiful space in the middle of a city. I had an absolutely wonderful time, and found myself immersed in total tranquility. $5 is the deal of the century. Can’t wait to go back!

I'm not a fan of botanical gardens and I visit them very rarely, so I must admit I'd never visit these if they charged entrance.
But, while visiting the terrific and moving Holocaust memorial we found them to be free just at its back side, so we entered.
The gardens are well maintained, not that big and best of all - free, so I agreed with my wife to take a look. As an amateur I can only say they have some nice trees, plants and overall greenery with benches to sit and relax in a shade. Fish and turtle pond was cute to see.

We invested at least 2 hours roaming the grounds of this urban oasis almost adjacent to the Miami Beach convention center. We took a car from around Mid-Miami Beach and it took 15 minutes due to traffic. We bought tickets online. I would recommend it if you need a break from the beach or shopping or if (of course) botanical gardens are something you enjoy. This one is small but this is Miami Beach! How much real estate do you think was available for a beautiful public garden???!

If you like plants, I highly recommend you go here. It takes about one hour to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Daniel in the garden shop was helpful and very nice. You can buy plants here as well. You can pay admission/donation on site (which is not mentioned on their website), but there is no guarantee of admission. Also, it was a bit tricky to find the location. I had to stop and ask someone for directions. The website needs better directions. Great place to take photos.

What a wonderful afternoon spent in the Miami Botanical Gardens. Being from NE Ohio, I had not seen most of what is growing in the gardens before. I love flowers and was amazed at the nature all around me. Butterflies, lizards, iguanas, a real banana tree, coi fish in a lovely little pond, and so much more!
This was a relaxing and perfect way to spend 2 hours of my Miami vacation. also inexpensive, only $5 per person for admission to help care for this gem in Miami. Bless all the volunteers who help for this place. Thank You!

Oasis and beautiful are perfect descriptions!!! Right in the middle of Miami Beach this little slice of paradise is a must visit if you want to relax in the serenity of a really well maintained botanical garden. Pretty amazing you can do anything in Miami Beach for $5 and the fantastic bloody mary's are $3 cheaper than any hotel. Go see it!!!

A tiny botanical garden in the huge Miami, on a walking distance from the main shopping streets. The entrance in the south east corner is hard to find. You can spend half an hour here or more, walking among beautiful flowers and flourishing trees and taking pictures. There are a few different thematical sections of park with different styles, a turtle pond and places to sit in the grass. There are also a small souvenir shop and a café on the grounds, and entrance is free.
As near to the original nature as it can be in Miami.

Due to a friend's delayed flight, I found myself alone in Miami Beach with several hours to kill. I'd never been to a botanical garden before, so I decided to check out Miami Beach's. I was not disappointed.

The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is small, but it is packed with interesting plants, trees and flowers. There's a Japanese Garden, a fountain or two, and a big pond filled with huge koi. I had my camera with me and found lots to photograph.

As luck would have it, I happened to be by the gift shop when they announced they were about to start a tour. I joined two other patrons for a free tour of the gardens. (The gardens are also free to enter.) The tour guide was charming, quirky, and incredibly knowledgeable about the plants in the garden and the gardens history.

Overall, the botanical gardens are a beautiful spot and definitely worth the visit. This was a good place to spend a few hours.

The garden is small but pleasant. Despite its size, it has a nice variety of plants native to Florida and the Caribbean along with some pleasant surprises from afar. The garden has some serene corners and offers a nice change of scene from the tourist bustle of South Beach. 50 to 70 minutes would suffice to enjoy the garden.
The Holocaust Memorial is located just outside the garden, so it makes sense to plan for 30 more minutes and visit the two together.
