Micanopy is Old Florida at its best, a sweet Southern town popular for its antiques shops, outdoor cafes, elegant b&b and organic bakery. Micanopy is a charming slice of small town Florida at it's best. The vibrant historic district is made up of small, independently owned shops, galleries and cafes right in the heart of rural north central Florida, 10 miles south of Gainesville

This small place claims to be one of the 12 cosiest little towns in the US, and This may well be true. It's a small gem, very close to the park entrance. Really worth visiting and having a coffee.

As we headed toward Gainesville we stopped at the "hamlet" and was not disappointed. There are a dozen or so "quaint" shops with friendly people exhibiting their wares, food and skills., A wonderful community to visit when in north/ central Florida off 75.

Have a mimosa at the cafe, and then enjoy the vintage shopping! My favorite shop is Winter's Past Vintage.

Cute little historic district to spend an hour or two during the day with some antique shops. Not really much in the way of decent nice restaurants. It is picturesque.

Yes, open until 5 pm. Big parade on July 4th. Antique cars, tractors, fire trucks and lots of red, white and blue along Main Street.
