You can get a good view looking down on this from the trail to Smbataberd Fort from The River House. Or add an extra hour and hike down to the valley.

Beautifully located monastery with stunning views. It's a nice hike with over 500 m ascent from the "main" road. You can also get directly with a 4x4 car. Be sure not to miss ruins located about 150 m from two main churches. If you like...More
