The Old Fort Park is a nice park on the edge of downtown NSB. Across from City Hall, It is an open, level site with several large trees to provide shade, numerous paved paths and benches, to relax. The unique feature of the park is...More

Interesting. Too bad all of the walls are not still visible to see how the fort actually appeared originally. Wish they had maintained it like St. Augustine.

On Saturdays you can wander around the Old Fort Park and catch the Saturday Farmers' Market at the same time. It's a part of Old New Smyrna and has a great view of the harbor.

This is an interesting enough place to see, but not really worth a long drive to see. It's a configuration of rocks with very little else to see. Nice enough if you are in the area and don't have anything to do.

SO, the secret of the 'Old Fort' is that it wasn't a fort at all!!! What you are seeing is the foundation of several previous buildings. A hotel. A private home and several other structures were built upon this 'recycled' foundation. That does not make...More

My daughter walked and jumped all around in this old fort for years. Not so easy to watch. This is another VERY historical place to visit. Wear your very comfortable shoes!

It's just and old foundation now but it is in a great find in a city park. I would check it out if you're walking around Canal Street or the Saturday Farmers Market.

The Old Fort Park Archeological Site provides an opportunity to visit the remains of an old fort along the riverfront. It is easy to find and is close to the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History which makes it a good opportunity to see both...More

My wife and I stopped by these ruins to see what they were about. Not much here to see, and signage was not great, so we could not get a sense of the history of this place. Worth a quick look, but that is all.
