I am about a 10 handicap and I played this course in July at 9:30am with my son, who is about a 15 handicap. We were paired with another 2-some. The course was fairly crowded and we played in just over 4 hours. Biggest problem: It was VERY hot - 93 with a 103 heat index. There were only 2... More

Not a BIG WILD hitter's course....more of a target course. Reasonable condition but not outstanding. Hot weather takes it toll on such courses. Restaurant however is awesome with terrific staff. Green fees VERY reasonable year round.

Played Calusa lakes today and that is a very good test of golf. While there seems to be a lot of water on the course, it only comes into play on very bad shots. Make sure that you get a free yardage book in the pro shop and follow it as it is very accurate, the best advice I could... More

My parents used to live on Capri Isles - a course I've played numerous times, and considered "okay". Now we went back to look for a place of our own; fell in love with the other two "golfvenice" courses - Waterford and Calusa Lakes. Calusa Lakes was at one time a country club; hence the ornate entryway, etc. There's a... More

Age 67, 9 handicap - Played this course for the first time recently and enjoyed the round. Provides challenges with tree lined fairways and fast, true greens. Fairways are reasonably generous and in good condition. Speed of play was good at a little over 4 hours. One small nit is that they do not provide range balls and its a... More

I like Calusa lakes. It is well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. It offers late afternoon golfers the option to carry or pull cart their clubs. I like this, as I like to assess my spots as I walk towards my ball, and I like the extra exercise. Also the late afternoon rate is inexpensive, and... More

Calusa Lakes is a semi-private club just north of Venice FL. The staff, especially Walt in the Pro Shop and George the Starter is friendly and welcoming. The course is in good condition, considering the drought Southwest Florida is experiencing this year. All in all, just a good time and we will be back!

Played Calusa Lakes for the first time and a very nice golf course. In great condition - fairways & greens. Nice layout with some challenging tight tee shots. For $45 with Big Summer Card in December, you cannot go wrong with that - Very Good value given some of the prices being quoted by other courses. Pace of play was... More

When you play golf in Florida around December, there are usually a few problems... First, the amount of golfers on the course can have you waiting on tees. Second, the large amount of golfers results in courses not being in the best of shapes and finally and most importantly the cost. Calusa Lakes Golf Club broke all the myths in... More
