This was roadside stop, a lot of what the others reviews say is correct. It is an outdated and not really much more than a roadside tourist trap for souvenirs. Everyone was very kind there. My young daughter (age 5) was excited about looking at...More

Visited Shell Factory and reminisced about my first trip there almost 35 years ago. Loved looking at all the shells on display, and fossils. Room after room of unique displays. An entire safari of mounted animals. A game room. A Christmas area like a scaled-down...More

Well, we haven't been for quite a while and it will probably be a long time before we go back! Hate to give an old established business a bad review but it's past it's prime! I'm a shelter and was very disappointed in the displays....More

I went to the Shell Factory years ago and it was well maintained and a friendly place with knowledgeable staff BUT... today when I took my kids for a visit it was DISTURBING! It smelled terrible, everything was overgrown and not maintained, I found mold...More

I thought this would be a good place to take my grandkids while we were on vacation. The gift shop building was old and musty, but strangely quirky. It was very large so we were able to waste some time going through it. Outside, nothing...More

I saw allot of nice things in the Shell Factory store, but a little overpriced. However, I was very impressed with the Nature Park! Went with friends and was told that all the animals were rescue animals from the area. They have everything from alligators to zebras!...More

Took our two Grandkids to Shell Factory for a mid-week activity. They enjoyed playing on the trampoline. They were going to try the zip line but it started to rain. They also have a nature park with a stated "400 critters". Did I say it...More

This place has a little bit of everything but mostly tourist junk! It was a rainy day so we went to have something to do - only to the "shell" building - not the many other things which I think included a restaurant, rides, zoo?...More

Thank you for taking the time to visit and write a review. Our "stuffed" animals were all donated to us years ago by Johnnie Johnson's family. Rest assured we did not do this to the animals, however we did promise his family we would house...More

Both, it depends on what you buy. There is plenty to choose from. The real ones are so good they look manufactured ! Gator heads, conchs, spirals, and just about everything else. The stuffed wild animals I helped move in... More

Hi! My family is planning a trip to fort myers area and have some questions. How many people fit on a bumper boat? Also, would one adult and two preschool aged children be able to go on one? How many people fit on one paddle boat? Approx how much is the food for the animals? My kids would love to see the animals but they would also want to feed them. Thank you in advance!

The Bumper boats I think would fit one adult and 2 preschool children! The only animals you are allowed to feed is those in the petting zoo! Food at the Shell factory is not very expensive at all.
