ok for a Saturday night.

This pub is quite local to where I live, within walking distance. I like live music in a pub on a Saturday night and there is usually a group on here. Usually one or two folks... read more

A popular pub that is poorly run. Hygiene score dreadful, just a one star, which means "major improvement needed". Stick to the crisps. Children allowed in the bar; the licencee could lose his licence. Indifferent staff, don't expect a full pint. A great shame as this could be a great pub.

Called here as we saw that the pub was now doing a larger range of food. I had the Ultimate Burger, excellent value at £7, complete with home made chips, onion rings, salad and coleslaw. My wife had the Fish pie, £4, which again was excellent with plenty of fish and prawns in a cheesy sauce. £1 off the drinks... More

This is an old fashioned traditional English pub. Quite roomy inside with a nice welcoming atmosphere with its own regulars. The bar staff/owners give quite a professional impression as if they have kept pubs for a long time. Their 2016 bonfire night was amazing, the best firework display i have ever seen, with a laser show to music, professional & very... More

This is a proper pub. Sport is available in the bar. However in the lounge there is peace and quiet, no juke box or piped music. A great variety of beers, ciders and lagers. If you visit alone there is always a warm welcome from staff and customers alike.I cannot comment on the food as I have not eaten there.... More

Whilst walking,we popped in to sample the real ale,as most pubs in this area serve,we were not disapointed with the ales on tap, fresh crisp local ale. The room was empty so no atmosphere on a very quiet afternoon,we did expect there to be more customers, perhaps the high price of a pint detered them,as we had visited the Woodman ,off cot... More
