Creativity and imagination in every corner!!!
Jun 2021
We read the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to go there as we had no idea this castle existed. Very pleased we did so. Its in the middle of nowhere but the road was ok for us. The tour guides were funny and told many stories about this artist. We were surprised with the creativity in the design of each piece of art. Worth going to the castle.!!

Wonderful Day Trip to Experience
Apr 2021 • Couples
Today we celebrate our 15 year Wedding Anniversary and decided to take a day trip to see Solomon's Castle. Such a wonderful experience talking and learning about a creative artist and person of Howard Solomon. This is a trip for all ages to experience, between the education, the artistic talent and how Mr Solomon lived and his experiences and talent of art that began at age 4. Definitely a trip to come back to again soon and to bring the family and friends. I would love to stay on our next visit in the Blue Moon Room overnight! Thank you all the staff for an enlightening experience.

Until you see if yourself.

We have heard of this place many times, and finally went to see it for ourselves.
It's an amazing place that challenges your imagination . It's a good representation of how Florida was before Central Florida captured all the attention. It's a work of art, and showcase for the "stuff" that Mr Solomon made.
While you're there take the time to get something to eat, the food is impressive.

I Could Only Dream of Being this Creative
Apr 2021 • Couples
Amazing place to visit! This is about much more than visiting Solomon's Castle. It is all about seeing the amazing talent, imagination and sense of humor this man had. After talking with multiple employees, who are either family members or close family friends, it is obvious that Howard Solomon was a unique and wonderful man. There are two tours available, one of the castle and one of the auto, planes and trains exhibit. We participated in and enjoyed both. Lunch at the Boat in the Moat was reasonably priced, scrumptious and plentiful. We even took a walk on the nature trail. Time spent on this property was relaxing and serene. We will most likely return and bring friends.

PS: It is my thought that the folks who gave poor reviews simply did not have much appreciation for this type of art and creativity. It is not the type of castle that is full of fine furniture and beautiful china. It is a castle that was family home full of love and creativity in a peaceful country setting.

11 for Lunch
Apr 2021 • Friends
Our group of 11 visited Solomon’s Castle on Saturday, 4/17, to see the Castle and have lunch. The food was good but what made this visit a 5 was the great service from our waitress, Nicole! The service could not have been any better.

Hidden Gem in the middle of nowhere in FLA - MUST SEE!
Mar 2021
An ode to someone who has made something out of nothing, literally! Howard Solomon is an inspiration to us all. I would consider him a genius.
Take the time and take a drive to this unique place - Solomon's Castle. You will be astounded, amazed, inspired by the genius of his mind. Think it, make it. It boggles my mind that he created so much in 1 lifetime!
This is a great stop if you are crossing the state. Go a little out of your way. You will be glad that you did. After your tour, Eat at the Moat under the live old oaks w/their wispy spanish moss. Such a unique place. Food is homemade.
Grab a brochure or 2 on the way out to share w/friends. Children should definitely see this attraction to let them know what imagination is capable of..

Somewhat interesting
Mar 2021
We did this as a small road trip. It is in the middle of nowhere, we got there late in the day. The building itself looks much better in the pictures. It is showing a lot of wear on the exterior. We did not tour the inside. It did not appear to be open, it was. We had a late lunch in the boat in the moat. The food was fine, I had the chicken salad and my wife had the bbq sandwich. If you showed up here without being in the world with news you would think there was no pandemic. No masks worn, no requirement to wear them. Glad we had the vaccine. I’m sure the inside might be interesting. It just seemed so worn, why would I pay $36 for 2 to enter. It is a cash only. No cards.

Amazing creativity

I've taken visiting friends and family several times and everyone from kids thru seniors love it! Guided tours leaders are knowledgeable and tell Solomon's story with humor. I believe Mr Solomon's approach to his craft can be summed up by saying that every piece of material he used spoke to him and told him what it wanted to be. There is also a very good restaurant on site, in a boat also built by Mr Solomon. There is also a tour of his cars which I have not done. Don't let the remote location dissuade you from visiting. It's an easy uncrowded drive. Highly recommended for ages 5 thru 99.
