    Fun rollercoaster in Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest is a must do in Animal Kingdom if you like roller coasters. It is fast and goes backwards. Lines can get long but we found that going early in the morning when everyone else is in line for Flight of Passage is when the wait is shortest. With early entry, we did FOP first, then safari and then Everest and the line was only about 10-15 mins long.

    One of the best
Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited Disney World for two weeks holiday in October. We went on this ride twice and it's superb. Could be the best coaster if it were just a little bit longer. Great views at the top too. Enjoy!

Super fun thrill ride, freaky Yeti animatronic!
The second best ride in this park (first is Pandora: Flight of Passage). They did excellent on this one. This is a very thrilling ride with the speeds, g forces and how it even goes in reverse! Only downfall (and it’s only a sorta a small downfall if you know of this) is that they don’t plan proper with the big giant Yeti animatronic being in that mountain. It was originally supposed to move and look like it’s grabbing you but because they later realized that it’s unsafe from that height in that huge mountain, it stays in what’s called B-Mode where the animatronic doesn’t move at all, but the strobe lights give it the impression that it’s moving….honestly, either way, this thing is absolutely terrifying!! So scary detailed and well done, it really startled my fiance! Kids will love this one too but just have them be aware that it can be more of a bigger coaster than other family coasters (it’s definitely way more intense than Slinky Dog Dash) and that there’s a scary Yeti waiting in the mountain! My Dad conquered his fear with this one, if my Dad can do it, your kid can do it lol! Overall, a must ride when visiting the park!

    Expedition Everest is a Blast
This roller coaster is an absolute blast. Big drops and fast turns. The portion when the train drops down and starts racing backwards is outstanding. Wonderful theming as well. This is a mildly intense ride (a step up from Big Thunder and Space Mountain) but it is still a roller coaster that all family members young and old can enjoy which is what Disney is all about. I would make it your first ride of the day right at rope drop. Quickest route is through DinoLand. Grab a Genie + pass and try riding again later. You can also make use of the single rider line and get a third ride in if you are loving the ride as much as we do.

This is located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom near the Asia part of the park. On the day that we went, we decided to do the Standby which had a wait of about 45 minutes. It is worth the wait since you travel through many items and rooms that are well decorated for the climbing theme of the entire ride. The other theme is the search for the elusive yeti and there are many items set up beautifully to show things associated with this creature and its lore. Much of the wait is in these rooms and some of it is outside. The park has set up fans for the areas where you are waiting outside. The ride is a roller coaster type affair with 2 people per car and about 16 cars linked together for a single train. During Covid you are required to wear a mask inside and while on the ride. The ride goes forward and backward and some of it is in the dark so be warned that if you are prone to motion sickness you may want to skip this ride. For everyone else it is a fun ride that is different from most other roller coasters. On top of that part of the ride is nice and chilly, so on a hot day, this is a great place to cool off. Enjoy.

So I’m wondering - is there a requirement to renew/repeat Disney manners training? As my son and I were boarding Expedition Everest at 8:05 am, I was putting my items in the safety pouch when RON came up and said pull the safety bar. I replied that I was putting my items in the safety bag (pretty obvious) to which he responded, “put the safety bar down. We’re ready to go.” I wanted to respond and ask how could I put things in the bag after the bar was down and how could we start the ride until we had done so.

Please extend my thanks to Ron for starting off my day so wonderfully. Pretty much ruined the ride for me. Hoping the rest of the day isn’t ruined.

I understand the importance of the safety bar. But his tone and attitude were way out of line and totally inappropriate.

We had a fast pass (if you don't have one, come at rope drop or be prepared to queue). The ride looks stunning but intimidating from the outside. I say intimidating because my husband looked at it and said he isn't going. I waivered but then thought it probably looks worse than it is and rode alone. Wrong! It is worse than it looks.
Starts nice enough then goes backwards, in the dark and very steep. Was concerned about doing in my back or neck.
This is a great looking rollercoaster, and a brilliant ride if you like thrill rides, but it was super terrifying for me.

I'm not sure what I was expecting but that was awesome. Its fast, its dark, it goes backwards, you're stalked by a yeti. Sensory overload but definitely a great ride at Animal Kingdom. The theme is great and artifacts so you always have something to see while in line. It was only 25 minutes

Great traditional roller coaster ride, as it goes high try to get a look around the park. The backwards part is such fun. The mountain is visually great.

Queuing was well done, things to see and do while you queue. We only waited 15 mins in the morning.

Good to get a fast pass or go first thing in the morning. Seating was comfortable and ride quite smooth.

My kids were really scouting out the parks for a thrill ride and this one fit the bill! That feel of climbing higher and higher, into the heights of Mt. Everest! Coaster and story all in one! A lot of fun!

Good for all ages (assuming they meet the height requirement). This ride was nice and smooth. It was not extreme, my 6 year old loved it. She had never been on a roller coaster before. Give it a go. I am glad we had the fast pass, the line can get really long.
