To travel this roadway is to see the natural beauty of Florida. There is some residential development in areas of The Loop, but most of the drive is through a magnificent forested area.

my first trip along Dixie Highway was with a friend and I felt like I was on a movie set. I have since moved to the area and the beauty never ceases to impress me. Tomoka State Park is in this section with camp sites, fishing, and bicycling.

A must see if you are in the area....Old Florida charm. Casual drive through old oaks that canopy Old Dixie Hwy.

This old road is so scenic and beautiful. Birders, nature lovers, photographers, motorcyclists, bikers, convertible drivers, and others love the drive. It is a blessing to live nearby to enjoy it. Watch for wild hogs (black, long haired boar), deer, migrating birds of all sorts, an occasional manatee or alligator, and a rare sighting of the endangered Florida Panther.

Nothing better than a cruise along the loop through a canopy of great oaks(Old Dixie Highway), and then a right turn through an amazing lowland palm grove(Walter Boardman Lane), then a turn on High Bridge Road through coastal salt marshes, out to A1A and the beautiful beaches this area is known for. Still the best ride in the area, and... More

It's one of my favorite places to cruise through. Beautiful scenery that shows you the real Florida.

The drive was very easy and they had street signs that pointed the way so it was easy to stay on the correct roads. It was nice to be able to see another part of the coastal area. It was well worth the drive. It took us by the ocean, with unobstructed views of the beach/ocean. Then we went inland... More

As most folks say, this is an incredibly scenic drive. Wife and I took out the convertible, let the top down and just cruised under the moss-covered trees. Views of the water are nice and we saw a lot of different birds and wildlife along the way. It is a relaxing way to enjoy time with your loved one.
