The state park has two sections. One section is directly on the ocean, but has been closed since Hurricane Matthew. Hopefully it will reopen soon. The other section, the main section takes you into a true FL hammock. The gardens are lovely, the home interesting and touring the home is stepping back into FL of another era.

Beautiful rose garden , all different colored roses ...you will definitely be able to take pretty frameable pictures. This area has a playground for smaller children and lots of trails for nice short nature walks.

It's a beautiful place, with beautiful flowers and majestic Live Oak trees, peaceful trails and beautiful views of the Intracoastal waterway. We were there when the temperature was in the 70's, with a light breeze, and it was heavenly.

Really wanted to go to the beach side but it is closed due to Hurricane Mathew. Went to the park and it was worth the stop. Quiet and peaceful. Nice walking trails and everyone we talked to were very nice and informative. Read the history signs, interesting past. I'm going to do some googling on more of the history of... More

My uncle's plan was to be married on the beach. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating. It ended up being a blessing in disguise. This park was breathtaking. It was tranquil and beautiful and ended up being the perfect makeshift location for the small, intimate and very casual ceremony. While we didn't get to explore much, you could tell by our... More

I have been here several times. Although the plants and trees are very nice, actually beautiful, my favorite part is the wonderful views of the Intracoastal. The history of the park is also quite interesting.

We stopped in here to see the park. We had not read much about it, but I'm glad we stopped .Beautiful park, historic home, animals to see, nature trails, picnic area. We hiked and took lots off photos, and we definitely will be back on our next trip to Florida.
