A short drive from Tallahassee along panhandle coast. A good variety of Floridian marine life and fish. There are touch tanks and educational information is provided. Can view at your own pace in less than an hour. A gift store is available. Good activity for the whole family. Waterfront restaurants are nearby.

Stopped in with friends to this very well maintained old school aquarium. Hands on tanks for you to hold crabs, shells and star fish. Lots of tanks, full of fish and sea life. Not many other visitors so we could stay at a tank as long as you wanted. Very clean and well maintained. Tide tanks were fun.

A must see if you are in the area. The staff is very friendly and we enjoyed the touch tanks. The turtle was awesome and came right up to us.

Great lab for sea life lovers or people who has never seen these specimens up close. Very nice and small enough were it does not take all day to see.

Get up close with nurse sharks, sea turtles, horseshoe crabs and rare, elusive deep sea eels...and a myriad of gastropods, bivalves and more! Touch tank and aquariums offer encounters like no other. The splendor of the FL or GA aquariums are grand but the experience here is truly that. Come rain or shine, going solo or with a crowd, Gulf... More

Great place to see up close live marine specimens. Lots of 'touch it' tanks. Great video, Great place for children, I would recommend at least 7-8 yrs old and older. The place is in a quiet neighborhood, not hard to find. Very nice gift shop. I would say it was at least a 2 hr visit or longer. No food... More

This was recommended by family. $9.50 gets you in and you can spend at least two hours lost among the sea life. There are docents to explain what you are seeing or touching. There are plenty of sea creatures to see. There is no rush since you are your own guide. I had never seen a touch tank. I enjoyed... More

My grandchildren are teenagers and they loved the place!!! As they would go from tank to tank touching and looking at the marine life, they kept calling for me to come look. I was trying to give them a different experience and they certainly had one. They kept telling me what a neat place it is. I had to encourage... More

We recently went to the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab. While the facility is not big, it's a great place to take small children since they have a number of touch tanks for kids to interact with the marine life. The touch tanks vs the"look-only" tanks are clearly marked. Keep in mind that this facility is located in coastal Florida and... More

Good place for small kids. They can touch some of the specimens. There was not a lot to do and it was unbelievably hot. Luckily the surrounding area had good restaurants and a beach.
