Beautiful beach that is not overdeveloped or crowded. Only problem is that there is not much roadside parking so arriving on sunny days after midmorning will leave you without a place to park.

This beach will not disappoint you ! Pure white sand as far as the eye can see ! Semi private , as you have to pay a small fee around 4 to 6 dollars to enter the Beach , the pass is good for a week :) . Or if you choose , you can buy a yearly beach pass... More

This is one of the most pristine beaches in our area and I walk it almost every day. Well kept park area, and great sunrise and sunset views year round.

Very clean beach with lots of amenities. There is a covered pavilion for parties, restrooms, outdoor showers, and beautiful beach front close to parking lot. You have to pay or enter by park pass so it makes it more private from just anybody. A great place for families!!

This is a great family beach. There is an admission charge but Seniors can buy a lifetime pass. Not a lot of surf action except on occasions when there is an offshore storm. Water temperature mostly comfortable but a bit warm in Aug/Sep.

I live near Johnson Beach and visit often both alone and with family. Don't let the name fool you; its part of the Nation Seashore system. From a single two lane road, you can access both the gulf and the bay side, known locally as Big Lagoon. It has a system of boardwalks through the dunes and a main parking... More

This is a National Park beach so there is an admission charge. This beach came highly recommended and we were excited to take it in. As with MANY beaches we visit, be aware that they look different every time you go depending and the weather before and on the day of a visit. The beach is expansive with many walkway... More

No trip to the Gulf is complete with out a beach visit! Our friends recently moved to Pensacola and we found Johnson Beach only 20 minutes from them. Near the AL border, this is an excellent clean beach option for those wanting less of the party crowd and more beach relaxing. We visited during off-season; we hear it's quite popular... More
