Great covered picnic area with restrooms right on the beach, walking trails, great sand-dunes to play in, designated area (last 3 miles of the island) unofficially consider "Johnson's Nude Beach).... check the internet. Nominal daily rate, annual passes, and great National Park rate for life for seniors over 65 at $12.00. Also easily accessed by boat on the Gulf side... More

Enjoy this beach immensely. The sand is beautiful and love to look for shells. Also enjoy the waves and watching the sand crabs emerge.

Just a great stretch of beach in the most natural of settings. Varies from busy covered facilities to deserted stretches requiring long walks from your parked car. A little bit of gulf, some inter-coastal and even some primitive camping. Don't hesitate to make this a stop. If sun, sand and warm salt water is on your list you won't be... More

Johnson's beach is quickly becoming one of our favorite beaches. Its a shame that the government doesn't improve the facilities in that this could be the premier beaches in the area.

This park is on a peninsula with clean white sand beaches. If you want seclusion, this is for you. There is a nature trail through part of the park to walk. Fishing is also an activity to do. We saw a blue heron eyeing a fisherman's bait bucket.

This is one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to on the Gulf Coast! It's clean and uncrowded with beautiful sugar sand and blue water. I drive the 12 miles from my house just to ride my bike some mornings. Make sure you visit when in Pensacola!

Johnson's Beach is where I live during the summer months. I buy an annual pass and go just about every day. There are two choices: surf side or sound side. Both are perfect depending on your goals for the day at the beach. You can see dolphins on both sides but more on the surf side. On the surf side... More

I spent an afternoon on the beach here. I walked a lot and viewed the park from a walk over and could see the ICW on on side and the ocean on the other with natural sand dunes all around. The beach is wide, white, soft sand and the water is shallow with a nice sand bar not far out.... More

We are locals and visit Johnson Beach periodically. The facilities are nice, great place to put in kayaks, SUPs and get some fishing in - Gulf or ICW. Recommended.
