Ghosts and Graveyard Tour of Pensacola

59 reviews
Embark on a journey through Pensacola's darker past and haunted present on a group ghost tour. A 1930 Ford transit bus takes you to the city's scariest locations. Discover the macabre history not found in any guidebook and listen to stories about stubborn ghosts who can't seem to move on. Bank robbery, live burial, and embalming techniques are just a few of the tour’s talking points.

The tour of the historic homes was very interesting and informative. The tour takes a little over an hour and the guides do a great job of making the history come alive. The museum of industry adds another hour and is worth the time. Tickets are good for one week so you can break up your tour if you want. Several good places to eat and get a bite to eat right in the neighborhood.

We toured many houses and the Old Christ Church, shown above... We had an enthusiastic tour guide. The Price was very inexpensive... so well worth the price and the time taken to do the tour....

When your tour guide dresses in appropriate costume, has a wealth of stories and is actually a university grad in maritime studies, then you’re in for a real treat. I loved to visit the many old houses on the tour, supplemented by guide Robbie’s subtle remarks and even subtler innuendos. Lots of intriguing contrasts between early Victorian houses and houses later in that era, plus those of wealthy families and working class people. The tour includes artifacts and such materials as a rope bed tightener and a real live chamber pot. A four block section of buildings is preserved through the joint efforts of the city and the University of West Florida. Tickets are good for one week, a helpful feature since covering everything could take all day. The tour finishes at Old Christ Church built in 1832 and the pews and stained glass windows are fascinating. And if you appear in costume, you just might merit a free one at nearby Pensacola Bay Brewery.

Honestly, we never would have found this if we weren't looking for the Pensacola Bay brewery. But . . so glad we did. Took the guided tour (2x daily) with docent Chase who was knowledgeable. Also there are self guided tours thru houses and museums of industry andz commerce. The church and its history is beautiful and inspiring. A great peek into old Pensacola.

Old Pensacola Village is reminiscent of Colonial Williamsburg on a much smaller scale. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and are good for 7 days. The guided tour that is included is informative and takes you inside three restored homes and the Protestant church. The tours are at 11AM and 1 PM Tues- Sat, and lasted about 1.5 hours, so plan your time accordingly. The ticket also admits you the Florida History museum. The village is within walking distance to Palafox Street - the main (modern) street in downtown Pensacola. We combined a visit to the Saturday Farmer’s Market on Palafox with an afternoon visit to the village. Our guide, Angelica, was very knowledgeable about the history and told many amusing stories. There are shops, pubs and cafes open to visitors on the grounds. We had mixed weather during our stay, so it was handy to visit on multiple days - the village on clear days and the museum on a rainy day. It is a lovely piece of history and gave us a perspective of American history that we were unfamiliar with.
