About
The home of Wall South, the first permanent replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial. Founded in 1992 the Park has since grown and prospered. It now includes a WWI Memorial, a WWII Memorial, a Korean War Memorial, and a running series of plaques to honor local warriors who have fallen in the Global War on Terror. There is also a Purple Heart Memorial and a monument to the submarine lifeguards who rescued so many Navy pilots in WWII (including President George Herbert Walker Bash). Most recently, it is home to the Marine Corps Aviation Bell Tower, which has become a popular venue for local veteran's events and ceremonies. Our Park continues to grow. A Revolutionary War Memorial has been approved and will shortly join our other memorials. It will fill a gap of omission at the Park, honoring those whose sacrifice gave Americans a Nation worth defending. The next gap to be filled will be a memorial to honor the current generation of Americans who are fighting the Global War on Terror. Our community is steeped in military tradition and enriched with a strong military presence. The full range of service, sacrifice, duty and honor that comes with military service is amply illustrated in the example of our own citizens. This park is dedicated to the memories of those who sacrificed their lives in the defense of this nation.

Moved to Pensacola last year and finally visited this fine memorial. Was disheartened to see children climbing on one of the Korean War memorial statues. Spoke to the mothers of these children. These parents did not understand why we would be upset that they allowed their darlings to use the statue as a jungle gym. These mothers told us that we know nothing about them and that they placed flags at the memorial park. IMHO, they were being disrespectful and there's nothing they could do to make it alright for their kids to play on the statue. This is a must see for anyone visiting Pensacola.

this is a good place to bring your lunch and just relax and watch the water and just have peace and think about the sacrifices given for our freedom.

Happened upon this Memorial and I was quite taken by the emotion it stirs within. Very nicely designed and landscaped.

This park has a water retention pond in the center with ducks and vegetation, along with a small island. Surrounding the pond is the Wall South, a smaller replica of the Wall in D.C. There is a WWII, Korean, and WWI memorial and even the Revolutionary War. There is a small memorial to the submarines that saved pilots in the Pacific in WWII. The park is well-taken care of by a Foundation. Always good to remember and honor those who died for our freedom.

Our Vietnam Dustoff group toured the wall on a warm and clear Saturday morning in October. We found the 'Wall" to be an excellent replica of the wall in DC. It was not difficult to find the names of our lost crew members. The entire grounds gave a sense of being very hallow. All of the various military wars were represented by excellent monuments all very professionally done. While we were there, a group of volunteers were there cleaning up the grounds, weeding and performing general maintenance.

As incredible place of peace and solitude. Each memorial, whether a replica or an original will stir your heart. Taking the time to recognize the sacrifice of others at each memorial may become emotionally overwhelming. You will not be alone. Comfort is found in tears, while the spirit of those lost provide a humble solitude.

I visited Veterans Memorial Park of Pensacola FL recently. Went with my son, a Wounded Warrior, even though we fought in different wars the respect, reverence and emotions bridged our age gaps. I've been fortunate to visit the Wall in DC with my son and my wife and it doesn't matter if we visit the original, a traveling wall or a re-creation like here in PCola the feelings and emotions are the same. The loss of entire generations is a tragic concept. The cost of freedom is expensive. The park here in PCola is well maintained has plenty of parking and easy to find. Memorials to all American fought battles are proudly displayed as well as special monuments to specific groups including. Seabee's, Coast Guard, Corpsmen, Airwing, Nurses et al. It's a proud location that should be visited by all, especially families with children so they better understand the sacrifices this glorious country is founded upon.

As a Pensacola local, I have watched Veteran's Memorial Park grow over the years. While it is sad to see how many names are on the replica Vietnam wall, it is a beautiful display. Changes have been to add the Korean War, WWII, and other memorials within the block of the park. The park is simply beautiful and is a testament to our military, in all it's forms. Just across the street is another beautiful memorial to Missing Children.

I have been here many times. Every time I have visited, I have seen a Veteran there, with tears in his eyes, searching for a friend's name. Sadly, many of them have been homeless. These men and women are not there to panhandle - they are there to be close to the memories of their service. There are restaurants close by - do as I do and go purchase a meal and give it to that man or woman. Offer assistance. Remember that the cost they paid may be much larger than you ever dreamed.

What a wonderful place to visit. The grounds are well kept and it was so very peaceful. What a nice chance to be able to pay your respects to our brave men and women that served our country throughout many wars.

I recommend a visit to the Veterans Memorial Park whether you're a Pensacola visitor or local.

The non-profit organization that built and maintains the park has done a wonderful job of providing a place for respectful contemplation and reflection on America's wars and those who've served in our nation's defense.

While all the memorials are very well done, I was particularly moved by what is known as "Wall South," still the only permanent replica of the National Vietnam Memorial. That half-size replica is worth the trip even if you don't visit any of the other memorials while you're there.

Remember.
