What a mess allowing dogs has caused here. They are on the beaches, loose, and you know what everywhere. Park personnel don't bother to enforce any rules with the dogs, so you might as well call the Sheriffs. We got chased by two big ones, that were not friendly. Another nice place ruined by the few. Do not come here... More

Super clean bathrooms. Friendly helpful camp hosts. Very nice state campground. Private sites. Ours was completely paved. Nice boat ramp.

This used to be our "home away from home" but now we just feel sad and disappointed. We've had problems with the way the place was being kept, which seem to have been corrected, but now we're just fed up with the noise and the overall festival atmosphere. People leave their dogs to run loose and bark, children run loose... More

This park has lots to do! From hiking trails, kayaking, biking, to chilling on the beach all while surrounded by nature. This place doesn't disappoint!!! We went kayaking for $20 for up to 4 hours and while doing that we saw an abundance of wildlife. Don't let never kayaking deter you. You are only limited by what your are willing... More

We were staying nearby and wanted to rent some kayaks for kayaking since some in our party had brought their own kayaks but others needed to rent some. They had the most reasonable price so we decided to go kayaking at Big Lagoon. It was great. The park staff was very helpful as far as the rental went and it... More

This little campground opens at winter time... the host is a cool guy... not really a nice beach within the campground, the nice beaches are on the opposite shore, National Gulf Island park...15$ entry fee per day...the naval museum nearby is interesting for everyone...the sandy walking path is a cool spot for dog walking in the morning...few ticks....overall good experience.

Except for the heat of the summer, I visit this wonderful state park every morning to hike it's many trails. It's a slice of old Florida before condos lined the beach. Lots of wildlife and great flora. Highly recommended

This was our first trip to Big Lagoon State Park. We found the park online through the Florida Park system website, booked five nights and crossed our fingers that we'd made a good choice. It was a good choice! We towed our 18-foot travel trailer and set up in our campsite late at night after some car trouble delayed us.... More
