This is an exciting and interesting place to visit in Florida. We saw alligator, deer, otter, heron, cows and endangered gopher tortoise. It is an easy ride with some shade and pretty flowers in bloom. There are no lines of people! Instead of waiting in line at Disney, rent or bring bikes here and the ride will last as long... More

We ride our bikes almost every weekend and love this trail. Well maintained and sometimes great wildlife viewing. Always get to see some cows :)

Took our bikes to the trailhead in Polk City and rode four miles one way, returned to the picnic shelter for our lunch and rode three miles the other way. The trail is well-maintained, rather flat, and mostly shaded. Saw a few people walking dogs and passed a few other bikers. The trail is actually 29 miles long with four... More

I love biking but since moving to Central Florida its hard to find safe places to ride. I finally made it to the trail head and put in 20+ miles today. This place is great. the trail is very well maintained, there are bathrooms every 5 or so miles, places to stop and rest, stretching areas and lot of people.... More

I've been visiting family in Polk City for 25 years and for the first time had an opportunity to check out this trail by bicycle. I started at the Polk City trailhead and did an out-and-back to mile marker 6.5 (13 miles round trip). I enjoyed it tremendously. Flat and straight and scenic. Surface is smooth and very rideable. The... More

My wife and I took the bikes out of the trail and loved the peace and quiet. This is a very long trail that spans at least two counties. You can really take a long ride if you want to. There is a lot of shade from the overhanging trees. Definitely worth checking it out. Happy trails

We've ridden this trail and still like it. Mileage markers are clearly visible and rest benches are placed in idea places.

We biked about 8 miles of the trail starting at the north end going south. The trail was mostly shaded. Some open areas to view swamps. It was nice the trail was marked with mile markers. Bathrooms at the north near the lot. We enjoyed our leisurely ride in the am befoe it got too hot. We are geocachers and... More

The Van Fleet Trail is a very well maintained trail and is a smoothly, paved almost perfectly straight trail with no elevation change at all. There are restrooms and water fountains located at trail heads along the trail. There are also some benches along the way as well. It is checked by citizen patrols for anyone needing assistance. And local... More
