The cemetery is open once a month, and free tours are offered showing the vast history from the indigenous cultures through the Spanish & British periods up to the Civil War era. All of the volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Driving by this cemetery will be as good as walking by. Gated and closed to public. Can't go into the cemetery to view headstones. Hard to read any headstones due to their age.

The gates were closed to this cemetery when we visited St. Augustine but it was beautiful to look at through the iron gate/fence. Very ornate and historic. I would love to do a haunted tour next time.

The Tolomato Cemetery opens its gates to the public on the 3rd Saturday of most months. The historic graveyard had its first recorded burial in 1798. We toured the grounds last Saturday just before noon, and enjoyed the history lesson given by Brooke, the volunteer...More

Lots of local history and a really serene. beautiful spot right in St. Augustine. Between the Visitor Center and the Castillo de San Marcos. On the ghost tours if you like or stroll by on your own. Photos will be posted soon.
