Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This big ball outside the visitors center is hard to miss. Take a minute to read the plaque and ponder what it actually is. Though the history of St. Augustine goes way way back, this thing doesn’t quite fit the Spanish past or pirate lore. It’s significant in its own right though. It marks the beginning (or end depending on how you look at it) of the first transcontinental route from ocean to ocean. St. Augustine FL to San Diego CA. Oddly enough I’ve visited both markers. I’m weird that way. I’ve got to say, San Diego needs to up their game. It’s quite small compared to St. Augustine’s big ball.

This is a fun thing to see. The Old Spanish Trail purportedly runs from Saint Augustine, Florida to San Diego, California.
This monument on the grounds of the Saint Augustine Visitor Center marks to Zero Mile of that trail.
The Trail is one of the theme based motoring routes that were popular in the early 1900s, and the mile marker as installed in 1929.
Worth a look.

The marker is near the Visitors Center and the Cemetery, located near the main street. Interesting to read about the history of this magic road in the various citations.
A planned highway from California to Florida. Worth looking at and it is easy to find

Just read about this on the Atlas Obscura site. We've never seen I just read elsewhere that it's near the Visitor Center. It must be hiding in plain sight. We'll definitely look for it the best time we visit.
