First of all, this is a great winter/spring/fall activity as it is mostly outdoors and can be very hot during the summer. You will learn all about native american and spanish life in early florida. This museum is fully immersive. You'll even get a job and get paid and you can spend your money in the gift shop.

Had a great time! Both our teen and 10 yr old enjoyed it, we all learned lots of cool info. We got there later in the day and then the rains came so we had to leave earlier than we wanted... But the very nice lady at the gift shop (Leigh) gave us a rainy day pass to come back... More

Our family went to the Old Florida Museum this past weekend and I was not sure what to expect. Our tour guide started off with some fun history of the museum itself and discussed the "rules". After getting our paperwork signed (you will know what this is about when you go), the tour begins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and... More

We visited with our 9 year old son. Perfect balance of staff interaction, guiding us through vs time on our own. There's a chance to play the period games as the settler and sailors did and participate in such activities as exploring period housing, earning gold pieces, candle making, etc. History comes to life and is better appreciated when experienced... I visited with my 13yo daughter and my 14yo son. I had never been there before and wasn't sure what to expect. I wasn't sure my kids would really enjoy it but much to my pleasant surprise they both LOVED IT. It is very interactive. There were games, tools, props, and lots of interesting facts from those eras. My kids... More

We were looking for a fun activity to do with our young boys and a friend recommend the Old Florida Museum to us. We were pleasantly surprised how great it was. The kids had a blast walking around and trying out everything. This place is very hands on, which is great for young children. Our tour guides were very informational... More
