Overview
More
Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are not just any church. We are Florida's first Presbyterian congregation, established in 1824. CNN has named us one of the eight religious wonders in the United States. The present sanctuary was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1890 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth. Mr. Flagler, his first wife, Mary, daughter Jenny Louise and granddaughter, Marjorie, are entombed in the Flagler family mausoleum at Memorial. The church is open for visitors Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a tour of the church by one of our trained docents during the week and then return on Sunday to join us in worship. Our visitors come from across the state, the nation, and the world.

Go inside for a look. There are docents to tell you want you are looking at. It's very pretty and worth the time. The history is sad, but what a great tribute to love.

The church was built in 3 days less than a year. It is magnificent. Off to one side is the burial place for a wife and his child.

Toured. Very impressive. Love all the hidden details in the architecture and or imnetation. We attended service the next day. A good sermon given by the reverend and a very friendly congregation and wonderful music.

I enjoyed a self tour of the church very much, and was glad that they had informational displays and a helpful docent to answer questions.

This church and the history that comes with it are awesome. There was even a guy there to tell stories about the church and Henry Flagler. If you have time... it is worth a stop just to see the archatecture.

Free tour. They have a donation box inside and there were a couple of guys there to answer any questions. Very ornate with a viewing area of the Flagler's tombs. Trolly stop right by front too. Worth a visit.

There is no cost to visit. Worth it to look at the details of the church and take your time while visiting

Our historic Sanctuary is open to visitors Mon thru Sat from 11AM until 3:45PM unless we have a Funeral/Memorial Service come up. Most weddings happen on Saturday - the Sanctuary would be closed to visitors then as well.
