Great View

The view of St. George Island from the top of the lighthouse is worth the $5 charge and the climb up nearly 100 steps.

Parking right next to lighthouse. Costs $5/person to go to the top of the lighthouse (children 6 & under are free i think), not too hard a climb. At the top is a ladder that goes through a fairly small opening into the top of the lighthouse. If you're claustrophobic I don't think it'd be an ideal activity for you,... More

You can park just a few feet away from this lighthouse. Although we didn't have the time, you can climb up into the top of it. Some members of our group had done this before and said it was a great 360 degree view of the gulf, bay and island. There is a great restaurant a few feet in the... More

We stopped to take Pictures of the light house. It is located in a park with access to the beach and good parking. The keepers house was closed so we did not tour inside.

We enjoyed the museum. It is amazing that this lighthouse was destroyed and rebuilt using many of the bricks from the original lighthouse.

I enjoyed the history of the lighthouse. I climbed to the top which is only 92 steps. There is a 10ft ladder to get to the top but it is not bad at all. Fantastic view at the top. They have a little gift shop that was very nice. Its a great place to visit.

Beautiful lighthouse and the view is worth the climb. Great little museum with history if the location, lighthouse and even lots of interesting information about the lighthouse keepers. Very modest entrance fee to go up in the lighthouse and it was definitely worth it.

Stopped here for some pictures of the lighthouse and then went on to the beach. Very cool. We didn't get to look around due to time restraints and a long day at the beach, but will likely return

We were staying on the Island and decided that this was an important stop to make. The Museum and Gift shop are very nice. The people in the shop were really pleasant. The person at the Lighthouse was knowledgeable and shared little known history with us. Had no trouble going up the lighthouse and into the top area. The view... More

We didn't climb to the top of the lighthouse as old knees wouldn't permit. But we thoroughly enjoyed the museum. The museum guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. We've been to several lighthouses but she taught us things about lighthouses we never heard before. History of this lighthouse is interesting. This is a nice stop, the museum is free and... More
