Shells and birds galore!

We had a great time on the boat ride to the little island where there were hundreds of species of birds, shells and other marine life!

Merry Pier has it all. You buy your pass to Shell Key island. Stay for 2 -6 hours. Hunt for shells, lay on the beach or go snorkeling. Bring you chair and suntan oil or sunscreen. We found some conch shells and some sand dollars. A very restful and relaxing day was had by all. ALSO Shell key is a... More

We were looking for bikes to ride around St. Pete's beach and found Merry Pier. The guy there was very friendly and helpful! Gave us two bikes and they were only $8 an hour. He told us where we could ride which was along the bay and beach. Very beautiful! He gave a lock for free so we could stop... More

Lovely setting..you can almost hear that famous song "SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY" ...Lots of beautiful birds, fishermen, and watercraft. Also a fresh fish store right on the dock! Dockside benches with an absolutely beautiful view. You can take a cruise here also! Bait and tackle sold at the store..or bring your own..a visit you'll remember.

Love the little town feeling you get on pass a grille. although it might get very busy and touristy when in season , off season its beautiful. especially the 8th ave. even bought some fish at the pier and really enjoyed it later

Small pier, hometown feel. They sell everything from bait fish to fresh seafood. You can fish there or take a charter boat. Across from the Seahorse restaurant where we were and had breakfast. Nice tourist spots for pics.

This is a nice little pier where you can fish. I don't fish, but my husband and I enjoyed watching the sea birds who sit on the mooring posts and walk around the pier. It's in an out of the way area near the far end of the island Take binoculars so you can watch the birds out on the... More

Quaint pier for fishing and is also the starting point for some charters Super friendly owners of the bait shack Good place for fishing and watching birds on the channel. Nice pace to get away from huge crowds

Nice place, looks just like it should. Friendly people, plenty of fishing supplies and close to other great places, such as the beach (one block), and a couple of great places to eat, including The Seahorse. A wonderful area for sun, needs and food.
