Live music and a variety of entertainers every week. Lots of tables to hang out and enjoy the great sense of community. We spent the better part of the morning exploring this very large farmers market, which also has a good number of artist booths. The farm fresh produce looked amazing and all of the food booths smelled great. There is also very nice live music, and this is all right by the water. So, definitely a must visit for us the next time we visit.

Honestly, typical farm market with overpriced stuff. $7 for a small bun? C'mon be real, I can buy a whole bunch of those in a supermarket for that kind of money, it's not even that good. Lots of people as well.. nothing special.

Very good experience. There is a lot of food options here and very friendly vendors. Fresh plants, vegetable stands, crafts, cookies, hot foods, popcorn and lemonade… anything you could want from an open air market. Parking is a bit rough for handicap… we could not find any. Parking garage is half a block and cost $10.

This farmers market has great variety - an array of food booths, live music, a seating area to relax while the music plays and you eat your selections, a really good selection of specialty items, and some large produce stalls. There are also craft items, hats, glassware, etc. There is a large parking garage two blocks before you get to the market on 1st. It is the best place to park as there is none available nearer the market. Parking is reasonably priced. The most popular item when we visited were the bouquets of sunflowers. Seems like everyone had bought them. We were there from 10 am to about 1 pm and noticed that some of the booths had sold out of their most popular items - so get there early for the best selection.

Bathrooms today we atrocious. Only two port-a pots provided and they were almost overflowing before noon. No where to wash your hands. Step it up morning market. Today the market was booming with more vendors and attendees than previous visits and only two pots that definitely had not been emptied.

Great local experience! Some spots offered samples which allowed you to taste before purchasing. Makes a huge difference when given the opportunity to know before you buy whether it’s going to be something you like or not. Lots of offerings between food, flowers, art, and jewelry. Had a lovely time. Can be as quick as 30 minutes or as long as you’d like to stroll through. Have to check it out!

Saturday morning must. We come every time we visit the area. Love the mushrooms lady, the truffle man, local bread, local cheese, treasure island fish spread, and more. Good place to find unique gifts.

We stumbled on this one morning in Downtown St. Pete and made the mistake of saying that we would swing back by after going to the Pier. Believe it or not, this is only in the morning. After lunch time it is gone.

They close down the street for one city block in front of Progress Energy and the vendors set up in three rows - one row down the middle of the street and one on either sidewalk. Vendors sell food, produce, plants, framed art, original clothing and accessories, candles, fresh herbs and knick knacks. It's amazing how much cool stuff is there is such a small area. They are not all local merchants, either. We bought scented soy candles from a couple from up north.

It runs from the beginning of October to the end of May.

My daughter and I did a Mother-Daughter weekend this past week. Since neither of us had been to the area, she googled previously and thought the Saturday Morning Market would be a way to spend part of the day. The weather was fantastic!
When I say Wow, I really mean WOW! There were so many vendors, from food from Ethiopia to Mexican to Louisiana!
So much to see- first stop, the wineslush vendor with free samples! The warm wine sangria was great but then so we're some of the other samples! Needless to say, first purchase! Next stop- a jewelry vendor with earrings that were hand crafted from glass! So many from which to choose. We continued to wander around and had a brief conversation with a person from the African People's Education and Defense Fund. That organization appears to have a lot to offer, addressing disparities faced by African people, categorizing themselves as "The Baddest NON-PROFIT on the planet."
From there, we walked around to the crawfish vendor which I really wanted to taste but no samples were ready so... moving right along, I stopped and had a ginger infused beverage. Tasty!
After a pitstop to the facilities, which happened not to have any water or hand sanitizer for hand washing, I was glad that I had my own supply. The person overseeing that area did instruct people to find their way back to the center of the Saturday Morning Market where hand sanitizer was avaulable. So be forewarned, you just might want to come prepared in more ways than one, if you follow my drift!
From there, on to lunch where, at my daughter's urging, we purchased Ethiopian food. While she opted for the vegetarian platter, I chose the spicy beef platter with collard greens. Delicious! The portions were enough for two full meals and quite reasonable.
As we winded back around, we both purchased a trail mix for the road. My last purchase was with what I believe to be a husband and wife, selling body oils and raw shea butter, among other things. For my daughter, my husband and I, that shea butter is just what we need for dry skin, not greasy!
We thoroughly enjoyed the visit! Leaving, we stopped to watch a very talented juggler.
Just as a footnote, the wineslush mix and the shea butter purchases were really spur of the minute and afterwards, I wondered about the difficulty trying to bring both back through airport security. So, since my daughter lives in Florida, I ended up asking her to hold those two purchases and we ultimately decided to order what I had concerns about on line and just directly shipped to my home.
We both had a great time at the Saturday Morning Market!
Go check it out for yourself! I don't think you will be disappointed!

There is something for everybody--new foods to try, produce to take home, a live band with belly dancers, and you can bring Fido along, too! In June, it moves to Williams Park with fewer vendors (due to the summer heat).
