My 4 children and I visited in January . What's nice is all the plants and flowers. They provide shade which I imagine is welcome in hotter months. My kids range from age 8-20. They loved the rhinos and feeding the giraffe. Also the macaws were very friendly. There is a nice insect collection. And my kids got to see... More

What a wasted drive and time. 20.00 to enter gates for nothing more than basic animals to view. The place needs updating for sure and pitiful, must pay extra for the outdated carousel and train ride. If going for the ziplining, find the places that specialize in such, don't waste time here. Send the animals to animal kingdom. The botanical... More

We are sorry you did not enjoy our Zoo. We are accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, which is the nation's highest standards for animal care. Of the approximately 2,800 animal exhibitors licensed by the USDA across the country, less than 10% are AZA-accredited. We feature a variety of endangered and rare animals, including Indian rhinos, clouded leopards,... More

This place made me sad. The animal enclosures were tiny. Definitely not enough space to feel kind of... "free" for them. Only highlight, staff was friendly.

If we didn't have a groupon I would have found the admission a bit steep. We fed the giraffes which was fine but I feel like $5 for three leaves of lettuce wasn't a good deal given the set up. It's laid out nice and we saw all of the animals. If you plan on eating there - just don't.... More

I found this overall a solid four, as plenty of animals to see including a sloth, otter, bald eagle, snakes and many more. As well as this, it was a nice enjoyable walk around, however my only gripe was the entry fee was too high to pay per person. Still with a nice picnic area for folks to sit and... More

The zoo is great. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Is a perfect place to go for a relaxing day and to enjoy nature. They have awesome animal exhibits including bugs, reptiles and amphibians. Great place to also have a relaxing picnic with the family. Make sure you arrive early to the zoo to take your time and... We took our 3 grandchildren here and we all loved it. This is not a big zoo but the setting is wonderful. It is in the woods as you stroll from exhibit to exhibit you feel like you are really part of nature. There was a hiking trail that was closed at the time that I would love to do... More

Day Trip to the Zoo only took little title over 2 hour from Poinciana Area. Little on the pricey side. We got there little after 1pm the ran out of food for us to purchase to give to the animals. The Big Cat enclosures were very small. I spoke with a worker he said the zoo just past its inspection... More

Thank you for visiting our Zoo. As we are a nonprofit, your admission goes directly to the care of our animals. For our animal feedings, there is a limited supply of food for the day, as the diet of our animals is carefully selected and determined, including the amount guests feed each day. Our staff member is correct. We did... More

The docents were terrific. Large number of animals and it took 2 hours to see the entire zoo. Worthwhile if you are passing through Sanford.

We spent several hours here..they don't have as many animals as some of the other zoos in Florida, but the enclosures were clean, grounds were beautiful and the animals looked great. It was a bit on the cool side so the animals were up and active. I would make it a point to attend all the "meet the keepers" opportunities...very... More
