The downtown Sanford are is quite nice. Right on Lake Monroe and easily walkable. Pick up a map/guide to the various historic buildings to help you out. Lots of great info there. Cute looking cafes, shops etc. Even a local history museum. We would return.

Downtown Sanford has it all. Parks, Lakefront, eclectic shops, restaurants and a Brewery Mile. The bars and restaurants range from older and classic to new and fun. The Zoo is not far and fishing is also close by

Looks to be a place being revitalised! A bit slow on a Wednesday night but still a good time! Several nice craft brew places with local flavor!

We arrived during a street festival and after finding parking a few blocks away we walked along the street and checked out the vendors and the stores as well as finding a few good restaurants. A very lovely marina and lake front.

Cute little area with many various shops and restairants, a library, and other businesses. The main brawback here is the extremely high crime rate in Sanford. This city clocks in as safer than just 4% of all cities in the US. Don't be too fooled...More

The hometown feel of Sanford takes me back to a more simple time in life. A short distance from downtown is the waterfront.

Lived there for almost 20 years. Still has a small town feel. If you don't have to commute the skinny parking lot (I-4) during rush hours, it is nice place to live.

Not sure. You might have to look up a few online to get a sense of it. Like most downtowns, I think hours are limited. I usually go on weekdays I take off from work and make it a lazy strolling day. I think the city of... More
