SCCF is a terrific organization managing over a thousand acres of conservation land, conducting state of the art scientific research and leading the way on science based advocacy to improve Southwest Florida water quality. The Foundation's headquarters on San-Cap Road has excellent exhibits on island nature that are fun and educational for all ages.

Stopped in here today to check out the butterfly house and the nursery. They ask for a donation of $5 and have a very nice interpretive center and clean restrooms. The volunteers were very nice and knowledgeable. The trails are interesting and the lookout tower has a great view. The nesting osprey at the end of the trail are quite... More

This is a wonderful tract to walk thru. We saw 6 baby alligators. Lots bird to photograph also. They also have some interesting talks. On Wednesday at 10 am there is a talk about the homestead and how it became SCCF property, very interesting

We really enjoyed our visit with multiple hiking trail options ranging from 1/4 of a mile to 4 miles. The small butterfly garden is a pleasure as is the native plant nursery. Educational exhibits inside helped us understand the overall eco needs of the area and the challenges of some of the native flora and fauna. Recommended for visiting nature... More

A visit here is very educational. Many lessons are provided by experts in flora and fauna of the area and of the sea. The gift shop is terrific.

all of the guides in the conservatory were a great help to show us all of the sights to behold. We came upon many birds, alligators and fishing guests ready to show my husband what they were using for bait and the catch of the day! A great drive through!

This is a good stop for those who are interested in land use and conservation, as well as wildlife. There is a nice observation tower and a number of trails. There is a nice gift shop and display area with a few specimens of local wildlife. It is a good place to see the results of hard work on the... More

We stopped by the visitor center and learned a great deal about the ecosystem and wildlife that comprise Sanibel. The people that support this organization are well informed and passionate about the island. The organization and many volunteers that support SCCF play a critical role in maintaining the environment that makes Sanibel special for all of us to enjoy. In... More
