Due to limited hours, we almost missed being able to see this village. We only had about an hour, so we went through it quickly, but we were able to see everything. It costs $10 to get in, seems a little expensive, but to know...More

This was our 2nd time here. The history of this island is so special. This little village helps you understand the hardship of living here way back when. They were all wonderful people here who consistently helped one another in order to survive.

This museum is definitely worth a visit. My 7 year old son enjoyed walking through the buildings and doing the scavenger hunt. Kids are allowed to touch some items which is nice.

This is an amazing place to see how Sanibel was before the causeway. A garden, store and home with great volunteers giving you loads of information and insights to how tough it was starting out on the island.

This makeshift village was created by transporting some various preserved buildings and bringing them to a single site to give visitors a feel for what life was like back in the days of fishing communities near the rivers and Gulf of Mexico. Good for adults...More

I didn't see anyone in a wheelchair the day we were there. However, to see some of the historical buildings you had to go up/down steps. Probably best to check with them.
