My boyfriend and I, who are from Connecticut, visited the gardens on a sunny Monday with his grandmother who is in her 70s. She has lived in Sarasota for years and has never been here, and we were all blown away by the beauty of the gardens! While the conservatory with orchids and the bonsai trees inside was nice, our... A wonderful respite in the middle of Sarasota. Selby Gardens is a great place to learn about Florida's native plants. Walk through the gardens and enjoy one of the art/cultural exhibits. The Rainforest Masks of Costa Rica exhibit was wonderful. A very nice Rainforest Mask will soon be in our home. We are looking forward to seeing the Chagall exhibit... More

I have been visiting Mary Selby gardens for a couple of years and I have been very impressed with the gardens and exhibits. Specially the current exhibit of the Rain Forrest Boruca tribe from Costa Rican Masks. You can meet and greet the artists during this exhibition of colorful carved wood masks. You can visit the gardens and attend the... More

Lights in Bloom was magical! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and highly recommend it. Touring the estate house was interesting as well. We sat with a glass of wine and listened to the the music and enjoyed our surroundings. It was a lovely way to spend an evening during the holidays!

Great cafe for lunch on the grounds. Kids love the children's area and there are wonderful views of Sarasota Bay.

What a wonderful place to visit with a fantastic view of Sarasota Bay. Worth the $20 entrance fee. Open 10-5. Famous for the epiphytes (air plants like orchids etc). We wondered through the Bamboo Forest, Mangrove Walk, children's rainforest area, had coffee in the cafe and the best is the beautiful conservatory with a huge collection of spectacular orchids and... loved every aspect of thisThe 4 of us stopped by the day after Christmas. The day was gorgeous. We spent about 2 hrs here and could have spent more time. It is outside and just breath taking. Fabulous views of Sarasota Bay!!! I loved every part of this garden. There is always something surprising around every bend!! A must see.
