Nestled on the shore of Sarasota Bay...lovely views of Bay and Ringling Bridge! Gardens are so lovely and are identified with markers naming plants. Very nice restaurant on the grounds and a unique gift shop. A must for visitors!

Spent several hours enjoying the gardens and native plants. Took a tour of the mansion which was a little lack luster. Overall a real treat for anyone interested in flowers and gardens

We truly enyoyed the gardens and the Marc Chagall exhibition at the Mansion. You can easily spend half a day enjoying the beautiful flowers, trees, pond and mangroves. A Must see while in Sarasota

It's a shame I've been in Sarasota for four years and never visited the gardens until now. It is such a relaxing day to stroll around the trails and see all of the interesting plants. It is quite a small botanical garden, but I like how it is directly on the water and how they integrate the natural mangroves with... More

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has an extensive selection of plants including some gorgeous flowers. Nature photographers will find plenty of opportunities to snap some beautiful pictures. It is located on Sarasota Bay and the grounds overlook the waters. A Marc Chagall exhibit runs from February 12 through July 31. You should probably allow around two hours to see everything but... At the risk of using this already abused phrase the MSBG is a place that anyone who enjoys beauty, natural surroundings, and learning; this place is a "Must See "! I've been there twice and will return. I highly recommend taking a tour with one of the learned docents, then just relaxing at the water's edge. It's such a great... More

This is a beautiful gardens in the middle of town. It has some gorgeous old trees, a children's garden, succulent garden, conservatory and a waterfall that falls into a fish pond. There was a bald eagle nest in the top of one of the trees. When we were visiting the first week of February 2017 they were preparing for an... More

Great gardens. Wonderful plant specimens. Most labeled. Take tour if you are unfamiliar with Florida plants. Seating available throughout the gardens. Good audio via phone. So have phone fully charged. Great cookies and ice tea in snack house. Military discount is very good. Chagall exhibit: get there early as parking is premium, lines for tickets long and only 20 at... Selby Gardens is in a lovely area of Sarasota, close to downtown. Make sure to bring your camera and comfortable shoes, and in the summer dress very light because walking around can get hot. It's worth it, though, because the place is on the water and the vistas are very nice. It has some spectacularly enormous banyan trees, of the... More

We loved these gardens. Being from the midwest it is fun to see the different plants. They are beautiful and displayed nicely. The gardens are on the water and often times you can see the big buildings of Sarasota nearby over the water.
