Stunning venue, this is a beautiful theater very sophisticated and comfortable. We saw Born Yesterday, an older play that continues to have relevance today. The cast was extraordinary and highly professional, the set (only one for this production) was lovely. If visiting Sarasota this is a must!

We checked out this theatre when we were visiting Ringling. What a gorgeous old place. Very classy surroundings. Not a bad seat in the place. We've seen 2 shows so far and have 3 more to go. We picked the wed/Thursday matinees at 1:30 then there's time for an early dinner afterward. Very comfortable seating. Price is about $25 per... More

This has to be one of the best regional theater companies in the country. The theater itself is elegant with vintage accoutrements imported from Europe. The resident company is mostly equity and all very talented. The management does an excellent job of selecting a repertoire for each season from opening with a popular musical to current plays and classics. We... More

This is our second time at the Asola and it was a wonderful experience. Saw The Originalist and it was excellent. Regional theatre in the US is always good and Asola is part of a,great tradition. The building itself is beautifully renovated

We saw play "The Originalist" , play about Justice Scalia and his interchanges with a liberal law clerk. Play was at Asolo theater , a small theater located next to John Ringling North Museum in a FSU annex in northern Sarasota. There is a fine dining "Muse restaurant" located in an adjacent building. Play was well done and we plan... More

I've been going to the Asolo for years and I have to say that the shows here are breathtaking. The actors, the sets, the costumes, the shows, and everything are just perfect. I recently watched Guys and Dolls for the first time and it was so amazing that I bought a ticket to watch it again. Another great show I... More

I happened to see an advertisement for a show as I was arriving at the SRQ airport, and decided to call for tickets. Although the show was not in the original Asolo Theater, the new hall is really wonderful and the show was REALLY outstanding. Broadway level sets, actors and music. I was just in NYC a few weeks ago... More

Saw Guys & Dolls and was wowed by how wonderfully the show was presented. Great singing and dancing and a wonderful set. We are set to see two more shows while in Sarasota. The Asolo always has quality performances so we book the productions on the first day that the individual sales are available. Great shows and a beautiful theatre... More

Being a seasoned theatre-goer I always look forward to the Asolo musical productions. SHOW BOAT, WEST SIDE STORY, and now GUYS AND DOLLS all become new again. GUYS AND DOLLS, an old, yet wondrous 'old saw' is made new again with billiant choreography and musical arrangements.. When I leave this theatre I also wonder what is next since I cannot... More

Don't let the name Repertory Theater fool you...this isn't the local folks putting on a show for their families. We saw a matinee of Guys and Dolls, which was outstanding. The actors have nationwide credits, including several who have performed on Broadway. The leads could have played these roles in any major city company...they performed with talent, joy, and nuance.... More
