My family and I really do consider this a highlight of our Sarasota trips. We walk around the park a little bit before it opens, and then we head on inside and enjoy some time well spent. Nice animals to see, and cool exhibits.

Great way to spent a day! Lots to see but not an all day affair. Staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend as a nice casual 1/2 day excursion.

Thoroughly enjoyed the great variety of sea creatures you can see here. You feel like you are at a scientific institution rather than a tourist trap. Loved the availability of many knowledgeable volunteers.

This is an aquarium. It has many things that you might see at a typical aquarium. But you also see things that you don't see everyday. My personal favorite is the sea turtles. When they are very tiny they look like they could be a key chain. Take your time and watch these critters. The manatees are always a big... More

Start at the main building and check out the giant eel. He tends to respond to people if you come up to the glass. They do shark feedings every morning at 1130AM as well which is particularly fun to watch. Go across the street and see the manatees though. Hough and Buffett spend their entire day eating and smashing their... More

Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium is a fabulous destination for young and old alike (although it involves a lot of walking). As a research laboratory it has constantly updated exhibits, featuring corals and how they are being successfully re grown in the Keys, information on red tide and its long history (hundreds of years) in the Gulf, beautiful tanks of... We try to visit Mote Marine Laboratory whenever we have out of town visitors, especially if they have children. We love to see the manatees, the sea turtles, the sea horses and much more. The staff and especially the volunteers are always helpful, and you can tell that they enjoy their work.

We loved our visit to the aquarium and laboratory. There were some things that you see at every aquarium, but there were also some unique animals here. I have never seen lobsters as big as the two that they have here. They also have two manatees that you can see up close and watch them eat. There are multiple "touch"... More

Huge marine life enthusiast, very informative and great displays. Wish there were more displays about how people could recycle to save the water ecosystem.
