South Lido Park is a pastoral place to wander and relax. Great for a walk after dining and shopping on nearby St. Armand's Circle.

Lots of soft sugar sand to dig your toes into. Good for shelling. Nice shaded playground for the kids. Plenty of parking. Beautiful views.

...go looking for shells in the morning as the tide goes out and you won't be disappointed. Lots of sand dollars when I was there and what magnificent sunsets.

We were driving Lido Key exploring and came upon an entry with a sign saying Ted Sperling State Park. When we drove in, we found a large park with plenty of parking, picnic tables, facilities, walking paths to the water, and a beautiful beach. The white sand was hard packed so it'd be perfect for biking. There were several people... More

This park, at the southern end of Lido Key, is surrounded by water on three sides - where the currents are dangerous for swimming. It is peaceful here - away from the bustle of downtown Sarasota and Lido Beach. There is of course the ocean side with the wide, white beach and the southern side too but the eastern side... More

The very southern tip of Lido Key, this park offers many things but not swimming (as the currents are dangerous.) Good picnic facilities, rest rooms, etc., and long stretches of beautiful sand without crowds.

Ted Sperling State Park at the southern tip of Lido Key is a great place for walking and picnicking. There are several trails through the forested area that allow you to walk one direction through the woods and back along the shore. There are often many shore birds to be seen and great sunsets. Picnic tables are found throughout the... More

If you're seeking a beautiful spot to commune with coastal nature that is protected from "winter" (northerly) winds, this would be it! Nice stretch of south-facing beach adjacent to pine trees with picnic tables and a newly renovated restroom facility. We saw a beautiful January sunset from this spot as we watched the gorgeous shorebirds hunt for their evening meals.
