This forest is a must visit for all out of staters or someone who is so consumed by their work. It was such a relaxing walk in nature and I so appreciated the chance to experience this. Great trails where you can leave your problems and stresses behind!!!! I love this area!!!!!

In the Apalachicola National Forest is an intriguing area called Leon Sinks, with a 3 mile hike that demonstrates how sinkholes, swales and underground rivers are formed from the dissolved limestone underlying this area. The trails are fairly easy. By the time you are done, you understand how houses and cars can be swallowed up in sinkholes and how important... More

Lovely scenic drive. Well maintained highways. Many places to walk with our dog. Found casual dining place on Hwy 98, quaint, friendly with delicious oysters!

The Apalachicola National Forest is a beautiful tree-filled area of the Gulf Coast that people pass through and by en route to many other activities, including the beaches and fishing. It is pristine and magnificent, allowing the traveler to take a deep breath in preparation for a wonderful adventure or as a precursor to a return to the day to... More

Riding along on our bikes along the tall pines bordering the road on both sides added to the pleasant peaceful atmosphere even in the rain.

Glad we were driving a Subaru. Took a dirt road that got a bit sketchy at time but were rewarded with great scenery and a baby deer sighting

My absolute favorite place to go in Tallahassee. I'm here probably every weekend exploring trails, off-roading, hiking, camping, and everything else! It's an adventure free-for-all in the forest and its HUGE. An explorer's paradise.

If you haven't been here, please go. The tall trees, trails, and quiet (compared to Tallahassee) is just amazing. You're still close enough to go to a restaurant after a hike, but far away so that it feels like an oasis.
