Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place used to be great with $2.50 Tuesday movies and an old man up front that told bad jokes and probably avoided paying IRS taxes. The old art and funky colors on the walls, new management redid everything and it doesn’t feel the same. Sure $5.35 movies on Tuesday but they are clueless on their point system and the kids working there don’t have a clue what’s going on. Sad to see this place change

There were very comfortable reclining stadium seats and three before 6 pm shows for a coveted brand new moive so the most you would pay is $6.75 during the week. Seniors and students pay $5.75

I wasn't aware that this place was under new management with many updates, so when I searched Google for a new release and Tamarac 5 popped up I was surprised. They now play newly released movies, the day they come out. Tickets can finally be purchased online. The 1970s seats are finally gone and replaced with reclining stadium seating. Even with the upgrades the prices weren't jacked crazy high. The food prices were still very reasonable (much lower than other theatres) and while, yes, the uber cheap tickets appear a thing of the past, prices for new releases are still slightly lower than other area theatres. My only complaint would be the seating, the recliners are on the cheap side. They are manual recline (you push back to recline) and for some adults tend not to stay reclined and are on the small side (think airline seating). Not many people are aware of this theatre... yet, so it's not crowded even for a day of the release for a major movie like Jumanji. I would say less than half the theatre was full for a 7:30 Friday showing.

RIP to the last cheap movie theater. 1st run movies only, $11 tickets now. Probably no more small indie flicks that I used to come here to enjoy. Sad.

We've been coming to this movie theater for years now. It shows a good selection of very recent, sometimes newly released, movies at a much better price than other theaters. It's no-frills but clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. We always check out Tamarac Cinema 5 first when we're in the mood for a movie.

Showing first run movies in a old school theater style. Old movie poster in the lobby span the early days of movies, low priced for first run movies

Went to see Boy Erased here last Tuesday. $2.50 to get a ticket. Yes the theater and the bathrooms are in. desperate need of an upgrade but it’s$2.50 to get in. The popcorn was excellent so you can sit me just about anywhere as long as I have good popcorn. It’s like the movie theaters used to be back in the 80’s but like I said it’s $2.50 on Tuesday.

I’ve seen some horrible reviews of this place and think...what do you expect for a $2.50 movie?!?!?!? This place is awesome. Who cares if it’s old and the carpet hasn’t been changed since 1982. The movie screen works, the sound works, there is AC, what else do you expect????

I’ll go even further to say, I could be 20 minutes into A Star is Born and the entire building could catch fire, I stumble outside with 3rd degree burns and would shut my shoulders and say, eh $2.50 was worth the first 20 minutes and go home.

A category 5 hurricane could rip the entire building off it’s foundation while I’m watch Bad Times at the El Royale while I’m holding onto the bolted chair watching the last moments until the screen is torn to shreds and still be like “cool experience.”

It’s $2.50 people. Chill out.

The worn down seats and broken cushions weren't too bad when the movies were $1-$3 but now the more extensive tickets make this a place to go only if there is a movie playing there that is playing nowhere else. You can see first run movies now for $5 on Tuesdays a quick drive away and sit in comfortable recliners.
