Ybor is a great way to spend an afternoon for basically any occasion. Plenty of restaurants, bars, cigar shops, and people watching. A lot of outdoor bar patios with live music, a movie theater in the middle, and a large arcade on the outskirts.

My partner and I stumbled upon this place while on a road trip. Cigar shops , bars and restaurants. Young and older folk. A good mixture, quirky and cool. Met some great people. Nice atmosphere while wandering. Friendly staff in most of the bars.

We thought we would be going to a nice tourist area, but it was pretty much bars and cigar stores. Several homeless were laying on the sidewalks asking for money. There is a theater there and the unique Columbia Restaurant. We won’t need to revisit...More

We had time to kill so took the TECO trolley down to the area. It is a very quaint district with MANY restaurants. Was interesting to see the history. Would be interesting to see the night life.

Enjoyed our visit to Ybor City with it's historic southern charm. Sort of remind me a little of New Orleans mixed with a little of Havana. Great mix of restaurants and things to see.

We happened to ask directions of someone who turned out to be very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and he was very informative. For a midday visit, it was nice to walk around and look at the shops and restaurants - has lots...More

Tampa is a quiet city (we've lived in Tampa for 13 years), but if you want some nightlife suitable college kids or for the entire family, Ybor City is great. Looks like New Orleans French Quarter. Easy parking. Good food (our favorite is Samurai Blue...More

We visited as part of a day tour with a guide, fascinating area recently refurbished with shops and cafes. Interesting shops making cigars. Lots of history and information about early immigrants. Must visit if spending a day in Tampa.
