Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

If you are a big cat lover, then you will love this! Be advised this is not a zoo, but a sanctuary and rescue. Don't expect to be entertained or think you can touch a big cat! This place is a wonderful exhibition of how people who truly care and respect the big cats of the world gave them a... More

There are so many rescued big cats here it boggles the mind. The best time to go for Photographers is in the early evening when it's feeding time. Then you get to see some real action. The staff of volunteers are very helpful and you can tell they do their work out of real love for these magnificent animals. Now... More

I highly recommend the Zoo Keeper tour!! We made cat toys for them and got to see them rolling around and enjoying like kittens! When they made direct eye contact with me, it made my heart skip a beat. So beautiful. The cats all looked very happy and healthy!!

We saved this special activity as the final experience of our trip, and it did not disappoint! The tour was very informative, conducted by a very knowledgeable guide. She spoke loudly enough so the members were able to hear her information. Guests are also provided with headsets that discuss additional facts about each cat. The pacing was that so that... More

Easily the coolest thing I've ever done in Florida. You're about three feet away from most of the cats, and you walk away feeling like you've made a meaningful contribution to something worthwhile in this world. You'll hear some horrific stories about truly awful people who abused these animals, but it's redeeming to see this sanctuary leaning forward to pick... More

Very informative visit. You learn the history of each of the animals and its refreshing to see how well cared for they are. This is truly a rescue for these beautiful animals and as humans we're very lucky to have an opportunity to view them at this facility. Very clean facility and workers were all very nice, helpful and informative.... More

Big Cat is pricey, but they do a lot of good with that money. Their tours are truly unique as they provide information about the cats in detail. These are beautiful animals and it is thrilling to be just feet from them at times. Bring a camera!
