Had been wanting to stop by this big park and today was the day. We didn't spend a day, just an hour but plan to return. Nice trails, bridges, great bathrooms, there is a pool, restaurant. Rentals for fun bike type things and kayaks. Wonderful family park. Great place to take photos. Good alligator warnings and info about respecting them.... More

Located in eastern Hillsborough County, this park is easy to ride to either from I-4 or east on Fowler Avenue to State Road 301. The entry fee is $6 dollars and well worth the experience. The loop road is only one way and you are committed if you decide to explore the park. One of two Florida “rapids” is located... More

The park and Fort Foster are really worth the visit. Families, young couples and anyone with a sense of adventure and history should visit.

We just spent 4 nights the park with a pretty large group of friends. This review is for site 39 & 40 and the entire park. The sites are VERY shaded but there is not a lot of privacy between these sites but since we were with friends that dint bother us. These sites are close to the kayak launch... More

Beautiful park. Admission fee was $6 per vehicle which is very reasonable. The walk on the rapids trail was a lot of fun. The water was clear and we saw two gators sunning themselves on the shore, 2 Anhingas (one was swimming underwater), Tri-colored Heron, plenty of fish and a turtle swimming along the bottom of the river. We came... More

The park is nice. Rentals are pricey. These 2 sites are full sun- it was uncomfortable how much sun we got. However, it is right across from bathrooms and showers and washer and dryers. Staff is friendly, if you book this site you will be right next to a park volunteer who cleans and monitors noise. If your noisy at... More

I took my 9 and 10 year olds on an easy hike on the rapids trail on a Sunday afternoon. Really pretty and very kid-friendly trails throughout the park. We ended up near the poolside cafe and a playground so we had a quick lunch and then played a while. It was a really nice day trip! We will definitely... More

Water, fun, gators, and Spanish moss what else could you ask for. Kayak at you own risk but I just love it. Had a pinic and no wild dog attacks or homeless people begging. What's a sigh of relief. Great day in the woods by the water.

A fantastic park with very helpful staff, we asked where would be best to see Alligators and were told to park up at parking lot 2 and were not disappointed! we saw 4 alligators and other animals. Park is really well maintained and we had a really good afternoon there.

If you enjoy the outdoors and looking for something to do than I highly recommended this place. It has walking trails, bike trails, picnic area, swimming pool, rentals, and a café. So if you want to spend a day with your friends and family this it the place to do this. They have places to grill out. Remember your bug... More
