Had a wonderful time camping at Lake Dorr, Ocala Nat'l Forest with the senior pass just $6 a night. Nice hot showers & bathrooms , no electric at campsite but each spot has picnic table, fire ring & BBQ grill with water spigot close by, Sites are semi private. Beautiful lake. They don't take reservations at this place so it's... More

Beautiful trail here! There is a short loop of 9 miles and a full loop of 22 miles. The scenery is diverse from live oaks and palms to tall pines and cactus. Highly recommended if you love mountain biking! Trail is relatively flat, but sandy spots can be challenging.

Over the years our family has been camping all over the USA. This place has been one of our favorites so far. The sites were clean and well cared for. The service was amazing! Jean and Toby, the caretakers of the campground were very friendly as well. Plus I forgot to mention the beautiful sights the park itself has to... More

Recently we've had a so called "horse trail friendly" ranger relocate to our area. He has systematically orchestrated the shut down of all lake trails for walking and Horses and off-road vehicles as well, to the point where Lake Mary is in accessible. He has even gone so far as to close the trails off in the neighborhoods so that... More

All water locations are dried up....trails are unmarked...no signs for way out....downed trees all over...ignored.....people have used it for disguarding things such as toilets, sofas, televisions etc....its become a garbage dump. Who ever by the Federal Gov..to manage this place must be sitting home doing nothing. Bass Lake...is dry...

We spent 4 days at Fore Lake Campground and loved every minute of it. We got in early to ensure we got a site (First come first serve) and did we ever. We did the primitive site which had a water hookup by the road which was convenient. The camp hosts were very friendly and were able to answer any... More

recently my son and I went wilderness camping in this forest. we had a tough time navigating since it was pitch dark out when we arrived. we finally found the appropriate forest roads and after searching for an hour we found a suitable place to camp. the next day we scouted the area in the morning via the forest roads... Overall this was a lovely place but not like other national forests in western USA. A road with buildings went right through the forest making us feel like we were just driving any old road. There is a maze of sand roads, we managed to take a couple of the wider, flatter ones in our campervan but some were just... More

Centennial trailhead is right off of 40 8 miles before the Big Scrub Campground. Great for a day trip. We were able to park close to the trails, and the HWY. plenty of parking and has restrooms at the trailhead. They provide maps and it is pay to park/ride for three days @ 10.00/operator. We will be heading back! Different... More
