Do take the boat ride and sit on the right side of the boat for the best viewing. The ride is an hour long and explores the spring. The wildlife is amazing. Be prepared to see blue herons, tricolor herons, snowy egrets, black vultures, moorhens, mergansers, wood ducks, alligators, manatees, large cypress trees, anhinga sunning, cormorant..... So many birds to... More

Beautiful and unspoiled setting on the Wakulla river - River boat tour with Park Ranger offers a glimpse of true Florida complete with alligators and native birds - the Lodge offers dining and lodging in a gracious atmosphere - a step back in time and a peaceful afternoon

This is a state park you should not miss if you are in the "Panhandle" of Florida. Located just a very short drive for the center of Tallahassee (less than 45 miles), the visit here is one you will not forget. The springs are clear, cool and always inviting, throughout the year to swim in (if you're from the north...).... More

The river tour boat drivers are very knowledgeable on the history of the area and the wild life you'll see....which included at least 15 different kinds of birds, alligators and even manatees. It's a 45 minute trip worth the meager fee of $8.00 for seniors.

Took the boat tour. Loved everything about it. Cool trees, cool birds, cool reptiles. Fish. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this place.

This park truly fascinated my adventurous spirit. We had a blast jumping off of the platform and playing in the sand, but snorkeling along the roped off area and gazing in the underworld near the massive spring was amazing to me. The boat ride was nice and informative, but don't sit near the motor the fumes are bothersome. The restaurant... More

Highly recommend taking the boat trip. We saw abundant wildlife- lots of birds and alligators. Best seating is on right side, starboard, and up front. Highly recommended.

I am so glad I visited here. I went on the boat ride first thing in the morning on both days that I stayed at the lodge. The wild life was incredible but different on both days. Great bird watching. Great alligator watching! We even saw a manitee. Another guest asked how I found about the place because I'm from... More

Originally from southern Louisiana, growing up my parents would sometimes detour our road trips to Walt Disney World with a stop at Wakulla Springs State Park. A few years ago, they did the same thing with my daughters and niece, staying overnight at the Lodge. The girls are all teenagers now, and while visiting my parents on Christmas break, we... More

Any trip to the park should include a ride on the river. The tour guides are interesting and knowledgeable, the scenery amazing and the wild life abundant. The views of the spring from the water side it awesome.
