You can use Nepalganj as an interesting place to stay on the way up to the hills, or to visit Bardia National Park. There is a very good local Bazar and Bagashwori temple with small lake there. Stock up on brassware presents and good prices.

This place nice but really hot and market is just ok not super and hotels are medium class

Nepalganj is the place where i have been, a couple of hour from south from Mahendra highway and situated near India-Nepal border.Management is not enough and also due to hot weather i did found other places in Nepal suitable for tourism then Nepalganj.

Drive from here to Bardiya National Park is 2 hours. Stay overnight at Thakur Dwara .. Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge & Camp is awesome!! Wildlife plenty !!
