This place was great! Lots of stuff to see and do. Gives you a chance to see what life was like back then. Need to make sure you check that it’s open. Parking is okay but will fill up fast.

I have heard of New Echota for many years but this was my first visit. It was interesting to see the re-creation of the settlement, and such a heartbreak to learn how badly the Cherokee were treated by the governments of Georgia and the United...More

Many have heard of the Native American Indians, but all too few know how advanced some were, especially the Cherokee. New Echota is where a historic Cherokee town has been reconstructed with Rangers and other workers on hand teach visitors about residents in a bygone...More

Mostly self guided tour. The movie gives you some background but not nearly enough. Walking trail not well marked and not for elderly. A must see so this tragic part of our history is not forgotten.

This is a big place- 3/4 mike walk and 12 buildings to explore. I was with my mom and 5 daughters and we purchased a GA state historic site annual pass for $50 instead of paying $41 for us all to enter. Learned a lot...More

The film and museum are informative, but the recreated town is the main attraction. Of course, many of the buildings are not original, or if they are were moved from elsewhere. Still, you do get a sense of what life was like in the early...More

The State Park Museum was excellent but the real museum/memorial was outside. I felt as though I was walking on hallowed ground. It is a big park with a lot of information. Visit as early in the day as you can just because of the...More
