If you're in Dahlonega, you definitely should take the time to drop by the museum. Gives you a great appreciation for life in the early 1800s, during America's first gold rush. Plan on 1-2 hours, which includes a short movie.

Went here on a rainy day. Cost $8.50 + tax per adult. It was a pretty small 'exhibit'. The best part was the short movie upstairs talking about the gold rush. Had a nice gift shop area though.

Liked seeing all the gold coins minted at Dahlonega in the early days. The film showed the history very well.

Good stop..but average for a museum if you have ever been to a national type museum. Great customer service with ranger joe guys and volunteers. Mainly reading exhibits and a few examples of artifacts.

Not being familiar with the Gold Rush history of this region, it was an interesting and detailed account of the "gold rush" in Georgia. Dahlonega town is cute with the museum situated in the square of the town. It's good for a stop, maybe 1/2...More

I really enjoyed the museum and the park ranger's were incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I learned so much about the history of gold mining, the Trail of Tears and about the US Mint. Definitely worth a visit!

I doubt it because most of the upstairs furniture and draperies are antiques, but you might want to call since they cater to a lot of campers in that area.
